  1. I don't know how you guys do it but I am amazed... No matter how many times I tried the driver from a Floppy using F6 - No Go... Integrated the driver using nlite and voila - I'm hooked up. Thanks !!!!
  2. Good Evening Everyone, I have a Qosmio G50 and want to load XP 32 on the system. Here's the configuration info: Model Name: Qosmio G50 ACPI x64-based PC Part Number: PQG55C-01R039 OS Version: Microsoft Windows Vista Home Premium 6.0.6001 Service Pack 1 BIOS Version: Version 1.90 CPU: Intel® Core2 Duo CPU P7350 @ 2.00GHz IDE Controlr: Intel® ICH9M-E/M SATA AHCI Controller IDE Device: FUJITSU MHZ2320BH G1 I downloaded the 32 bit SATA driver from here: "Intel® ICH9M-E/M SATA AHCI Controller\" The driver info indicated it does support the "Intel® ICH9M-E/M SATA AHCI Controller"... I'm using a Windows XP Corporate CD with SP3 slipstreamed into it. I've copied the SATA drivers to a Floppy and am using the F6 option to load the SATA drivers. At the F6 screen promt I select the right driver and then Windows Xp continues to load the rest of the drivers. When copying of the drivers is finished and then the screen says 'Preparing to Start Windows' - that's when the BSOD error appears?? Stop: 0x0000007B (0XF78D2524M, 0XC0000034, 0X00000000, 0X00000000) I then went back and downloaded the 64 bit SATA driver, put it onto a floppy and used the F6 option to install the Intel® ICH9M-E/M SATA AHCI Controller... This time I got an error saying... Setup could not load the file IaStor.sys - Error code 4 Any ideas on what I'm doing wrong??? I believe I've downloaded the correct SATA Driver? If not could someone point me to the right one... Please and Thank You... Edit: Just had a thought - what if the floppy has a bad sector? Put in a new floppy, tried both sets of drivers and same respective errors. Let me know if there's more I can be providing???
  3. Well, it turns out the version-check utility only checks up to version 3.0 Add/Remove Dialogue Box indicates that all the relevant .Net applications have been installed!!! Woohoo !!!
  4. Kelsenellenelvian, thanks for the insight... I downloaded and installed the netfxAIO.exe on a test machine... Once the installation completed I ran a .net check and got the following... Why is there no indication of .Net 3.5 being installed???
  5. OK, so I think I've got some of it figured out... .NET Frameworks 1.1, 1.1SP1, 2SP1 are full downloads .NET Framework 3 and 3.5 from the general MSDN and windows update site are bootstrappers (installs, checks config, and then downloads what's needed). Microsoft Dot Net Framework 3.0 Bootstrapper 2.8 MB http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?familyid=10CC340B-F857-4A14-83F5-25634C3BF043&displaylang=en Microsoft Dot Net Framework 3.0 SP1 is a full download Microsoft Dot Net Framework 3.0 Redistributable 50.3 MB - Direct Link http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=70848 Microsoft Dot Net Framework 3.5 Bootstrapper 2.7 MB http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?familyid=333325FD-AE52-4E35-B531-508D977D32A6&displaylang=en Microsoft Dot Net Framework 3.5 Redistributable 33.3 MB http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=e3821449-3c6b-42f1-9fd9-0041345b3385&DisplayLang=en Microsoft Dot Net Framework 3.5 Full Package 197 MB Direct Link http://download.microsoft.com/download/6/0/f/60fc5854-3cb8-4892-b6db-bd4f42510f28/dotnetfx35.exe It's the last one - the 197 MB file that looks to contain all preceding Dot NET versions... It also looks like it contains the x64 architecture files as well - I'm just not too sure???
  6. Ahem It's a mistake on my part - it's windows installer 4.5 which I mislabelled .net 4.5
  7. If that's the case then I don't need to include the other redistributables on my cd... Is there a 3.5 redistributable that does not include the x64 architecture... 200 MB is quite a big package even if it does include .Net 1 to 3.5 is it not?
  8. Here's a question that'll probably give away my experience level... I want to create a simple installation of WinXP SP3 and all the hot-fixes and updates I need... The forum has been great in helping me do this but there's one issues I'm having trouble with: For simplicity's sake I want to include a directory on this CD that contains .Net and the required updates. Here's what I have so far: MS.Net.Fx.1.1.Redist.exe 24,265,736 MS.Net.Fx.1.1.SP1..exe 10,703,680 MS.Net.Fx.2.1.Redist.exe 24,758,792 MS.Net.Fx.3.0.Redist.exe 52,770,576 MS.Net.Fx.3.1.Redist.exe 2,585,872 MS.Net.Fx.3.5.Redist.msi 34,939,904 MS.Net.Fx.4.5.Redist.exe 2,869,264 Now the rub, I found a .Net 3.5 installer (dotnetfx35.exe that's 206,692,864 bytes) - does this installer include all the previous .Net packages ??? What should I include on the CD?? I don't know if I'm making myself clear enough?
  9. I've got some older pc's that I'm going to be donating to charity... I'd like to be able to create a custome win xp installation using nlite that will reduce my time spent on this task. I'm a total noob so am looking for add-ons that will make my life easier rather than learing how to make add-ons (looks complicated) SO... does anyone know if these add-ons exist seperately or do I have to download packs to get them all?
