Thanks for the reply My main problem is integrating the SATA driver into the install so the install can recognize the HD and complete the installation.. I have no problem doing the SP update by downloading and running. Thanks again

I have a Gateway notebook P6318U that usese a Sata driver(SI3531) not included in any version of Windows. Restore DVD not availabe from Gateway. HD died so I have no restore media or partition. I have the driver, and the COA sticker and plan to purchase a copy of Vista on Ebay. A few questions: 1 - Can I do this procedure on a Win 7 machine? 2 - The WAIK download is an ISO. I assume I make the cd/dvd and install that? 3 - Whayt is the correct order to slipstream the driver and SP ? Any other tips ? Thanks
