    Hello

Hi Al, welcome to the forums. Sorry but I don't know where your suggestion should go, if it's to do with nLite, then I guess the nLite section of the user contributed projects sub-forum. Perhaps you could email the creator of nLite with your suggestion. All the best Jim
  2. Hello chaps, I used to use the RASOR utility to get my SATA drivers on my unattended XP CD (created using nLite). RASOR doesn't seem to be working anymore though, and I could never get SATA working without it. It's been a while since I tried to get the drivers on the disk, is it possible to do it with nLite these days? I have downloaded a rar file from Silicon Image which contains what I think are the files needed: txtsetup.oem SiWinAcc.sys SilSupp.cpl SiiSupp.vxd Si3114.sys Si3114.mpd SI3114.inf si3114.cat readme.txt So, can anyone tell me, can I use nLite to get these onto my disk? RASOR was so easy, even an id*** like me could do it, but now it's gone Thanks EDIT: I used nLite to get the SATA drivers on the unattended disk. Windows setup detected my SATA drive so I think that was all good. However, I now have another problem. I have two SATA drives and decided to do a trial run on my spare one. I deleted the partition, reformatted it and let windows setup do it's thing. It copied all the files over that it needed and proceeded to reboot my PC. I was expecting the next part of the windows installation to launch, but for some reason it hung while booting up. First time I tried it, it looked for a boot record on the CD (which it normally does) and loaded up the first part of windows setup again, asking me to do partitions and such. So I tried taking the disk out of the drive, but it just hung after searching the CD drives. Any ideas?
  3. Sorry to bring the technical level of your discussion down a bit, but can someone just tell me this... How do you implement the service tweak on this page? Is it something like copying and pasting the info in the first post and making it into a file with a certain extension - like tweaks.reg? I changed all my services manually using Blackvipers site after my last install, and I get the impression this automates the process. Can I get this integrated into my unattended install to? Where do I need to put it? Thankyou
  4. I'm sorry, but my technical knowledge isn't quite up to scratch, at least not up to any of your standards. Could someone help me with a couple of things? I downloaded the Ryan hotfix pack, and it arrives as a cab file. Do I need to extract it before I can integrate the hotfixs into my CD? Or can I just tell nLite to look at the cab file I downloaded and it will do everything from there? Second, is there a way that you can test whether or not the SATA drivers have made their way safely onto the CD without testing it for real? Virtual PC flashes the devices up so quickly in text-mode setup that I can't tell! I used RASOR to get them on there, again, as with the hotfixes, it seemed to be the easiest option! Also, with regard to the SATA drivers, should I process the ISO with nLite first? For example, should I integrate SP2, integrate hotfixes, remove components and do my tweaks... then integrate the SATA drivers, then go back into nLite and make the ISO? Finally, is it possible to put all your installation stuff onto DVD? This is a little bit of a way off in terms of my capabilities, but eventually, I aim to get windows and office and perhaps some other applications and drivers into the installation. I doubt I could fit everything onto a 700Mb CD, so is it possible to do it with DVD? If anyone could answer these little questions, I would be really grateful! Thanks all.
