  1. Download Resouce Hacker <Here. Copy[\B] the folder "Themes" from "C:\Windows\Resources" to the root of drive C:\ for backup. Start Resource Hacker and open "C:\Windows\Resources\Themes\Luna\Luna.msstyles" (you will have to select "All Files" to see luna.msstyles.) On the left, expand "bitmaps", then look for "BLUE_STARTBUTTON_BMP", expand that and right-click on "1033" and select the third option down from the top of the menu. like "Save [bitmap : BLUE_STARTBUTTON_BMP : 1033 ]... Save the bitmap as 1033.bmp to your desktop. LEAVE RES HACKER OPEN. Open the bitmap in your favorite image editor and edit the colors... Save the bitmap, then right click on 1033 again under "BLUE_STARTBUTTON_BMP" and select "Replace Resource" Click "Open file with new bitmap..." select the 1033 bitmap you edited. and click "Replace", NOW, Click "File" then "SAVE AS..." and save the file as "startedit.msstyles" to your documents. Open your documents and double click the "startbutton.msstyles" file. The "Display Properties" window will appear on the tab "Appereance". Click "OK", wait, and see your new start button. NOTICE: You may have to turn off "windows file protection", In an explorer window, click "Tools", then "Folder Options..." then the "View" tab, and scroll down to the option "Hide Protected System Files" UN-CHECK it and say "yes" to the conformation.
