  1. i cant get neverwinter nights to load ... it acts like it wants to use the physical drive and won't load from daemons tools ... for awhile it would complain that there was no disc in drive D:\(my CD drive) but then stopped after I altered the autoplay function ... other games like far cry work fine .. ive tried reinstalling ... could it be a service? i have alot of "DCOM" errors in the event viewer .. is there some CD diagnostic that i could use to fix the issue? does neverwinter depend on the IE Core? im using daemons tools as a virtual drive and used cloneCD to rip my CDs EDIT: it's working now .thnx anyway ... something to do with importing my saved games .. i reinstalled but left my saved games there then when i reinstalled it still wouldn't work then when i updated it work weird
  2. i found this: Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00 [HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\exefile\shell] [HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\exefile\shell\XQSHP] @="Start &Realtime priority" [HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\exefile\shell\XQSHP\Command] @="C:\\WINDOWS\\System32\\CMD.EXE /C START \"XQSHP\" /realtime \"%1\"" [HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\exefile\shell\XQSHQ] @="Start &High priority" [HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\exefile\shell\XQSHQ\Command] @="C:\\WINDOWS\\System32\\CMD.EXE /C START \"XQSHP\" /high \"%1\"" [HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\exefile\shell\XQSHR] @="Start &Below Norm priority" [HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\exefile\shell\XQSHR\Command] @="C:\\WINDOWS\\System32\\CMD.EXE /C START \"XQSHP\" /belownormal \"%1\"" [HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\exefile\shell\XQSHS] @="Start &Low priority" [HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\exefile\shell\XQSHS\Command] @="C:\\WINDOWS\\System32\\CMD.EXE /C START \"XQSHP\" /low \"%1\"" does that look like it will work? EDITED ... it didn't but I fixed it so it will work so long as your boot drive is C and you are using XP and i found this for windows2000: not sure if it works though: Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00 [HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\exefile\shell\RealTime Priority] @="Start&RealTime Priority" [HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\exefile\shell\RealTime Priority\Command] @="C:\\WINNT\\System32\\cmd.exe /c start \"XQSHP\" /RealTime \"%1\"" [HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\exefile\shell\High Priority] @="Start&High Priority" [HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\exefile\shell\High Priority\Command] @="C:\\WINNT\\System32\\cmd.exe /c start \"XQSHP\" /High \"%1\"" [HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\exefile\shell\AboveNormal Priority] @="Start&AboveNormal Priority" [HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\exefile\shell\AboveNormal Priority\Command] @="C:\\WINNT\\System32\\cmd.exe /c start \"XQSHP\" /AboveNormal \"%1\"" [HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\exefile\shell\BelowNormal Priority] @="Start&BelowNormal Priority" [HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\exefile\shell\BelowNormal Priority\Command] @="C:\\WINNT\\System32\\cmd.exe /c start \"XQSHP\" /BelowNormal \"%1\"" [HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\exefile\shell\Low Priority] @="Start&Low Priority" [HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\exefile\shell\Low Priority\Command] @="C:\\WINNT\\System32\\cmd.exe /c start \"XQSHP\" /Low \"%1\""
  3. hos do i put a "start at high priority" in the right click menu via a reg tweak?
  4. [VisualStyles] Path=C:\Windows\Resources\Themes\cbfield\cbfield.msstyles ColorStyle=NormalColor Size=NormalSize now, im not one to question you gurus here but shouldn't tht read: [VisualStyles] Path=%WinDir%\resources\themes\cbfield\cbfield.msstyles ColorStyle=NormalColor Size=NormalSize or %Systemdrive% or somthing?
  5. thnx for your help B) so i should put dx90csilent.EXE into this folder C:\XPCD\I386\SvcPack ... or should it be the extracted version before I put it through iexpress.exe? or the original "unsilent" version? then modify the srvpack.inf like so: [SetupHotfixesToRun] KB841873.exe /q /n /z KB840315.exe /q /n /z dx90csilent.EXE im thinking it might need a switch or two
  6. is there a way to integrate DX9c into a windows XP home service pack 1a installation CD? w/o using the guirunonce command or an $OEM$ folder ive been here: http://www.msfn.org/board/index.php?showto...grating+directx and here: http://unattended.msfn.org/xp/applications/directx.htm but i can't find the svcpack.inf they talk about, and ive already integrated the hotfixes and drivers w/ nLite i'm confident i can install it using the guirunonce but Id much rather have it integrated into the system note: i am not installing sp2 ... all the problems i ever hear from support forums nowadays begin w/ "Ever since I installed service pack 2 ..."
  7. thnx again but i cant seem to integrate my mobos drivers or my sound cards drivers ... imthinking my sound cards drivers(santa cruz) might be more pain than they're worth .... but I have an intel 875 chipset and that should be easy enough but there are no "inf" files ... and what about directx? should i just stick all the "exe" files that dont extract w/ run command "c:/driverfolder/driver.exe -x" into the windows hotfixsection?
  8. ive followed the tut @ theeldergeek.com but the files that are burned onto the CD dont fit onto a CDR and I dont have a DVD burner and im thinking that I do not need 200MBs of stuff that is on the XP CD I have if you go here: http://www.theeldergeek.com/slipstream_nero_procedure.htm and scroll down to where it says "Adding The Files To Be Copied", and take a look at the picture there, you will notice a difference between that and the attached image ... the folder called USWXP32C_ZX is 200MBs or so ... and while theeldergeeks CD comes out to be about 525 MBs mine comes out to be about 722MB ... i tried just erasing all the folders and files that were obvious but the CD crashed sometime during the first part of the install where it is loading drivers i am 99.9999% sure that i burned it correctly is there a way to delete that folder? like reverse engineer the compaq OEM drivers, etc out of the install? winXP.bmp
