I guess the main question we're both asking, how do you go about moving the boot sectors?

I think there's some issue with the boot sector, i have a feeling it's tossing it on some other HDD. Is there any way I can determine the location of the boot sector? I have my system drive on a built in SATA controller and 2 storage drives on a normal IDE controller. The only way i can boot is if i set it to boot from the CD first and dont press a button to enter setup.

I last used the server to test a CD a while ago, now i went to go test out a new CD i've made and it wont boot. The VM's screen goes black for a sec when it initially loads the CD and then the VM restarts. This is the first time i've used nlite to make the disk, but my cdimage.exe stuff is on a dead hdd. Any suggestions on how to fix this? or if its just my disk?

whenever i want to open up computer management I have to do a convoluded workaround in order to do it as a different user. Is there any way to do this directly via a command line?

The old admins made a bit of a muck with our AD and now whenever we unjoin a server from the domain we have to manually remove it from AD. I havn't really been able to trace this problem. Does anyone else know why i ma be having these problems?

I just got a Tablet and wanted to make an unattended disk. Can nlite remove activation? If not with the normal means anyone know of how to remove it? Thanks.

does the OS CD have to be the same version as the OS? as in home/pro/tablet etc

I was retarded and accidentally deleted the boot partition on my laptop . I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions for reloading a bootloader? It's an ultralight and i dont have a cd drive for it, although i can borrow one if need be. I was hoping i could boot from a USB drive. Thanks.

.cmd files for this purpose are extremely inefficient. I was just wondering if there was some advantage to running it with a cmd file as opposed to many of the other options out there.

I'm assuming script name is arbitrary and the parameters are a command line to run. am i correct?

I'm suprised how difficult it has been to find this. In windows xp how can i get it to run something on logout? thanks Edit: i'm working on a single computer not with any domain or any sort of group policies.

i'll look into parseing a config.js file. But i dont really have an idea right now on where to start with it. i'm not really a programmer i'm just really familiar with autoit.

i played around with it i didnt like it much and chances are there are plenty of 3rd party ones that have a lot more features. What exactly would you like to do with it? I've never run across anything that I couldn't do with it. You can even pass a script with commands to it for auto downloading stuff on a schedule. how exactly i havnt been able to do anything via the command line and the help command is useless

why is that autoitscript so complex? i've had complicated autoit scritps with gui and all that are shorter then that install script.

thats how i do it , works for me Yeah,but ya don't need to.. if you need to worry about the space wasted in compiling all ur scripts then there are much easier ways to save space. not to mention you actually get some added features from using a compiled script

Anyone know if there is a way to remove the quicktime installation from the iTunes installer?
