Hi Thx for the excellent turning your server into a work station guide. I am running win 2003 eneterprise server as a work station on a dell dimension 8250 with 512b ram. It seems much more resiliant than my xp old home. and teh machine seems far happier (if this makes sense) 1) I have an oem soundblaster 16bit pci card which works fine, and a sb live 5.1 (dell) which does not. The drivers, are installed and working properly, but the mixer, won't load, and no sound is issued. Trying the oem sb live 5.1 driver just gives no soundcard error. An alternative is to change the sound card for a better one. an anyone recommend one that works well with Server 2003 2) system restore My xp disk disk is part of the dell restore cd, only has sr.in_ not sr.inf can i use this to load system restore. If so how? many thanks ian
