  1. This is a follow-up to my previous post, "Internet Explorer has stopped working..." made a couple of weeks back. Thanks to the help of MagicAndre1981, I've decided to debug Internet Explorer 9 to determine what dependency could be causing IE9 to crash. Here's a complete output to determine what has been constantly causing IE9 to crash all of the time here... Reinstalling Internet Explorer 9 has had no help. The STACK_TEXT shows a list of dependencies that could be the culprint here and for some reason, it points to wow64.dll, but I don't know if it's true or not. Sorry for the distressful spam here, but can anyone look up the offending dependencies that caused IE9 to stop working properly here? Thanks for your time.
  2. Thanks for telling me. It looks like that this might be a bug that broke 64-bit compatibility in Windows 7 RTM and below. As far as I know, the 64-bit version of Stella 4.0 uses Advanced Vector Extensions (AVX) that only exist in Windows 7 SP1 and later. I'm wondering if there is a way to patch the 64-bit version of MSVCRT120.DLL without vpsrlq and AVX support on Windows Vista or not. Otherwise, I will have to use the 32-bit version of Stella 4.0 as it is built using MSVC2013. As far as I know, the next major release of Stella or the next major version of Visual Studio, will neither support Windows XP nor Windows Vista. The AMD FX-4300 CPU does have AVX support, but I'm disappointed to hear that the latest 64-bit release of Stella would not work in Windows Vista, even if the OS is still supported until April 2017.

  4. Thank you for the help. I will install the Windows 7 SDK Debugger and report back when I'm done. Note: In order for the Windows 7 SDK Debugger to work, I have to uninstall Visual Studio 2010 and reinstall the Windows 7.1 SDK. I have the System Restore to revert the changes, so once I'm done...I can revert prior to installing the Windows 7.1 SDK. Update: I did some debugging on the 64-bit executable of Stella 4.0 and here are the results: Microsoft (R) Windows Debugger Version 6.12.0002.633 AMD64Copyright (c) Microsoft Corporation. 5. That's what I've been thinking. The 64-bit version of Stella 4.0 tries to call an API that neither exists on Windows XP x64 nor Windows Vista x64. How can I use the Windbg feature with Stella 4.0 to investigate the issue on Vista? Would I have to download the Windows Debugging Tools from the Windows 7 SDK?
  6. I have a problem here. When I try to run the 64-bit version of a application such as Stella 4.0 that was built with the 64-bit version of Visual Studio 2013, the application crashes. The problem details are as follows: Other applications built using the 64-bit version of Visual Studio 2013 such as Media Player Classic do work under Vista x64. Is there a way to fix or debug this issue? I know that this issue might have been resolved under Windows 7 SP1, but what about Windows Vista SP2 users?
  7. Okay, I'm starting to get someone here. I took the measure by temporary disabling all add-ons in Internet Explorer 9. After I reboot, I will enable one add-on at a time until I determine which add-on could be causing IE9 to crash. If disabling the add-ons doesn't help, then I will do a scan to determine what malware could be causing IE9 to crash as well.
  8. I already have Firefox and other browsers installed. For some odd reason, something may have corrupted the files that is required for IE9 to work on various websites. Everytime IE9 crashes, all of the dumps are starting to pile up. I'm hoping to know what could be causing IE9 to crash.
  9. In case a direct download link may help, here is it: IE8-WindowsVista-x64-ENU.exe When I managed to test Internet Explorer 8 and versions of IE all the way down to Internet Explorer 5.5, it does not do that. [...] I might have to try running in Safe Mode or creating a new account to see if this fixes the issue and if it still doesn't then, I might be at a impasse here. Yes. Well... Considering IE8 works OK and it's available for you, please do enlighten me: why is it downgrading to (much more solid) IE8, and calling it a day, is not an option at all? More and more websites are dropping IE8 support like they did with IE7 which means that certain parts of the website aren't going to work correctly under IE8 and below.
  10. In case a direct download link may help, here is it: IE8-WindowsVista-x64-ENU.exe Not really... But it sounds like a good idea. Okay, I managed to do some limited tested on the family computer running Windows Vista Home Premium 32-bit. I managed to access Livestream on that computer running IE9 (32-bit) and all of the functions work fine. I managed to open an IE window running Internet Explorer 9 using IETester and when I did, IETester crashed, referencing to mshtml.dll. Here are the details: When I managed to test Internet Explorer 8 and versions of IE all the way down to Internet Explorer 5.5, it does not do that. So with that said, something could be causing IE9 to crash. Either it's the malware, a update to my EVGA 8400GS graphics driver or a botched security updates that crippled some of the functionality of Internet Explorer 9. I might have to try running in Safe Mode or creating a new account to see if this fixes the issue and if it still doesn't then, I might be at a impasse here.
  11. When I reverted back to Internet Explorer 7, I was re-directed to the mobile version of the Twitter website, instead of the regular version. If I were to access Livestream via IE7, I'd received a notice that the browser is no longer supported. As for Internet Explorer 8 (which is the last to support Windows XP/Server 2003), I'm unable to test it. If I have time, I'm gonna at least test websites on other computers with Internet Explorer 9 to see if the same issue comes up or not. Have you heard about IETester? If I get a chance, I'll be able to test Livestream and Twitter webpages to see if it works with Internet Explorer 8.
  12. I have MalwareBytes Anti-Malware (MBAM) installed. I don't know if Windows Defender is the issue here or not...so, I turned off all of the features in Windows Defender. And yes, I already have Windows Vista SP2 installed.
  13. Okie. I did uninstall IE9 and reinstalled IE9 again and it didn't solve things. When I went to someone's Twitter account, Internet Explorer 9 crashed again: When I went to Livestream to try to access the chat features, Internet Explorer 9 crashed too: It appears that there maybe some HTML coding inside webpages that causes Internet Explorer 9 to crash, but works on other browsers. I have yet to test this issue on other computers to see if the problem occurs on other computers or not.
  14. Thank you so much for the clarification. I'll do the procedure and remove IE9 now to see if it will get rid of the errors that I have been experiencing. If the problems persist, I'll get back to you. Update: Internet Explorer 9 has been removed and has been reverted back to Internet Explorer 7, the browser that came with Windows Vista RTM. I will re-install IE9 and re-install the updates to see if the problem persists or not.
  15. I don't know if I can fully remove IE9 as it has all of the updates installed since it may leave my PC with functionality issues. Recently, IE9 crashed again while trying to access certain Livestream functions.
  16. Adjusting the cache size doesn't stop Internet Explorer 9 from crashing due to USP10.DLL.
  17. Yes. After I reset Internet Explorer 9 to its default settings, I have modified the Temporary Internet File settings by raising the limit on the size of the disk cache to 1 GB. There are 2,886 files in 31 folders taking up close to 94 MB. I'm wondering if reducing the size of the disk cache will do the trick or not. I'm not sure if I'm correct here, but for some reason, the ScrpitCheckCache dependency in USP10.DLL might have caused IE9 to crash.
  18. Thanks for telling me. I don't think that you use 4shared at all. I guess that I'll need ti use OneDrive then. When I'm done, I'll PM you. Sorry for the trouble, but I was tired. Edit: Private message has been sent. I sure hope that you look over the dump file and investigate what has been causing IE9 to crash.
  19. I actually reset the Internet Explorer 9 to the default settings and it didn't help. Attempting to reinstall IE9 gives the error message: Plus, I have all of the updates applied to IE9. I'm currently uploading the iexplore.exe.5872.dmp right now on my 4shared account and privately note when it's all done.
  20. As the browser keeps crashing over and over and it finally generated a 293 MB dump iexplore.exe.dmp found in the C:\LocalDumps directory. I managed to upload it to my 4Shared account and I will send you a link in a private message when it's all finished.
  21. Thanks for the help. It seems that Microsoft might have released a bad security update that affected Windows Vista users. Edit: I had to back out of the KB2957509 update and hide the update. I'm gonna be contacting Twitter via e-mail to see what was up with it right now.
  22. I'm cross-posting this from the deviantART forums and I've decided to post this here to see if you can help solve the Internet Explorer issue involving the USP10.DLL file. I have a problem with running Internet Explorer 9 under Windows Vista x64 and it has to do with the USP10.DLL (Uniscribe) file. Every time I try to view someone's Twitter's account using Internet Explorer 9, the browser crashes! Here's the error from the Event Viewer that I received: The Event ID is 1000. I'm wondering if this error is reproduced with Internet Explorer 9 under Windows 7 or Windows Server 2008. Could this issue also have to do with a defective security update KB2957509 that was released earlier this month? I should scan this computer for malware to see if this might be the cause or not? Just curious.
  23. I already did install Windows 2000 in VirtualBox. However, I hadn't had the time to test it with UURollup at this time.
  24. Has anyone tested Firefox 29 and Firefox 30 on Windows 2000 with the latest version of UURollup? As far as I know, I recently switched to a new computer a few months back and as a result of this, I can no longer test new versions of Firefox on Windows 2000. Also, in Firefox 30, developers removed the dead OS/2 support code due to lack of contribution and the newer code that hasn't been able to work properly on OS/2.
  25. Has anyone run Windows NT 3.51, Windows NT 4.0 or Windows 2000 under Bochs with networking support successfully? Well, the latest SVN revision is 2014-01-05 and according to therock247uk from the Vogons DOSBox forums, Bochs has working Slirp support on Windows. So far, in the official release of Bochs 2.6.2, there is no networking support. Even with WinPcap installed, networking hasn't been working correctly for years, niclist.exe network detection remains broken and Slirp doesn't work in the official Windows release. Furthermore, if I try to enable Slirp support in the Windows NT 4.0 test VM on Bochs in the settings.bxrc config file, this log with error messages get displayed: Has anyone compiled Bochs 2.6.2 with Slirp support using the SVN 2014-01-05 revision? If so, I would like to grab a copy of the complied version and try to get networking working. Also, the lowest processor that Bochs will be able to emulate is a Pentium MMX. I would also love to see Bochs compiled to run either on a 80386, 80486 or original Pentium. Windows NT 3.51 and Windows NT 4.0 ran on these processors very well. If you would like more information on this, please let me know.
