  1. 3ware 9650SE-8LPML causes EventID 41 (Kernel Power) when system hibernates At first: thank you for the hint with the hotfixes. KB2505454 solved the problem with the boot delay. In the last few days I did some research about the kernel power error in the system log, when I try to hibernate the system. I organized an identical asrock mainboard, a second one from asus and a cpu for the case that there were some hardware problems. Then I tried a clean install with an ordinary 500 gb hard disk connected to a SATA port of the mainboard. Disabled windows update after install, added all the drivers for the mainboard and tested standby and hibernation. Both worked fine. After installing the 3ware driver the boot delay came up. KB2505454 fixed it. Standby and hibernation still worked fine. After that I decided to make a clean install with the SSD Raid Volume, disabled windows update and installed KB2505454. Standby works, hibernation did not whatever driver version I used: - System - Provider [ Name] Microsoft-Windows-Kernel-Power [ Guid] {331C3B3A-2005-44C2-AC5E-77220C37D6B4} EventID 41 Version 2 Level 1 Task 63 Opcode 0 Keywords 0x8000000000000002 - TimeCreated [ SystemTime] 2011-10-03T17:03:00.409213900Z EventRecordID 330779 Correlation - Execution [ ProcessID] 4 [ ThreadID] 8 Channel System Computer XYZ - Security [ UserID] S-1-5-18 - EventData BugcheckCode 0 BugcheckParameter1 0x0 BugcheckParameter2 0x0 BugcheckParameter3 0x0 BugcheckParameter4 0x0 SleepInProgress true PowerButtonTimestamp 0 Before changing the mainboard in my system I remembered that there is one additional system with an Fujitsu Mainboard and a 2 port 3ware Controller (9650SE-2LP). It has Windows Server 2008 R2 Standard installed. I activated the hibernation mode at the command line with powercfg -h on, rebooted and tried to sitch to hibernation mode with rundll32.exe powrprof.dll,SetSuspendState at the command line. Same result as above. Today I submitted a support request at LSI.
  2. Winimage is removed. The correct KB number is KB 2539635 The 3ware driver was updated at 2011-09-17. Driver update from 3.00.04.070 (2009-03-24) to 3.00.05.056 (2011-08-10). Today I have updated the controller bios. Its now FE9X 4.10.00.024. At last I tried hibernation - but without success. Everything was powered down, but resume fails (as mentioned above).

  5. The mainboard BIOS is 1.7. Hibernation worked very well for some time. But I can't tell the date or after what update/software install it does not work anymore. The S-ATA-Controller has BIOS version FE9X 4.10.00.021, the driver version is 3.0.5.56 (Sep 14, 2011). KB2541014 is installed since 2011-08.01.

  7. Win tries to go to hibernation, switches erverything off and restarts immediately and I get a message screen if I had powered off the system by PSU. Win reports: The system was shutdown unexpectedly (Eventlog 6008). The system rebooted without shutdown (Kernel_Power 41). Both messages translated from german. And I have used the WPD 4.8.x from the SDK 7.1.
  8. Which error message do you get? xbootmgr has logged the following: [2011/10/02-23:53:42.599] Detected inactive Win7 physical (ReadyBoot) prefetcher (the SysMain service start type is 3). 9. folder deleted. short summary: - boot delay is gone - xbootmgr still has errors (no change) - hibernation does not work
  10. Correction: there are 2 directories with 2 files inside: directory "Temporärer Ordner für zu brennende Dateien" and the file "desktop.ini". Explorer was set to not display hidden files. - no compression, no archive, no index and no encryprion attributes - chkdsk reports no errors - admin group, system and user have full access (all rights inherited), no special rights - I did no modifications
  11. No, I never used this internal burning tool. Only Nero 9, and there was one saved image (just copied to Blue Ray by now). I have deinstalled vmware for now.
  12. Renaming the log file path to c:\log resulted in the same error messages. I ran the ProcMon and uploaded the trace to my Dropbox. I will send you the password as pm.
  13. Thanks, I have requested these hot fixes. I have installed all 3 hotfixes. The boot delay is gone (probably with the 1st installed one) xbootmgr still gives the following errors: [2011/10/01-01:03:48.846] Detected inactive Win7 physical (ReadyBoot) prefetcher (the SysMain service start type is 3).
