  1. Otay, just wanted to make sure this was going to work as I'm very close to being finished. Start out with basic commands: I just put the section where my question comes into play... Is it correct??? cmdow @ /HID @Echo Off SET KEY=HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\RunOnceEx REG ADD %KEY% /V TITLE /D "Installing Media Applications" /f Appz appz appz to be installed... Skip to part where you get new menu!!! REG ADD %KEY%\065 /VE /D "Installing IsoBuster" /f REG ADD %KEY%\065 /V 1 /D "%SystemDrive%\Install\IsoBuster\setup.exe /VERYSILENT /SP-" /f REG ADD %KEY%\065 /V 1 /D "REGEDIT /S %SystemDrive%\Install\IsoBuster\reg.reg" /f REG ADD %KEY%\070 /VE /D "Moving on to System Appz" /f rundll32.exe iernonce.dll,RunOnceExProcess cmdow @ /HID @Echo Off ۰۰۰۰۰۰ ▲ ۰۰۰۰۰۰ I do add all this again right? "all nessary keys" ۰۰۰۰۰۰ ▼ ۰۰۰۰۰۰ SET KEY=HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\RunOnceEx REG ADD %KEY% /V TITLE /D "Installing System Appz" /f REG ADD %KEY%\075 /VE /D "nVidia Video Drivers" /f REG ADD %KEY%\075 /V 1 /D "%SystemDrive%\Install\nVidia\6693.exe /s /v"/qb" /f See, the number sequence is confusing me. Everyone for applications have the /V 1 /D and execution command... The fact I put Moving on to System Appz without one... What will happen? I know I could take this key out altogether, but I do have a good ideal here don't I? So people will know more is comming if they are watching this? Thanks for any help! Wisc
  2. ****! Another old as sin message I replied to! Wisc
  3. I couldn't tell you what the 16 year olds listen to. The 11-14 year olds pretty much like the crap that plays on the rock stations. I mean the beautiful songs that play on the rock stations. :sigh: I can only thing of PG songs too cause that's all the DJ's allowed to play at our school... He played a few oldies like the "I wanna rock and roll all night" song. Joan Jett has a few that would work such as "I love Rock and Roll" ... There's a song by Shaggy "Angel" that might work. OH OH OH! There's these freaky boys over in the east that are alot like the BackStreet Boys that have a few songs that would be suitable and unknown though. They are called WestLife... Grab their What becomes of the Broken Hearted... Maybe Uptown Girl too... Baha Men's - Who let the dogs out might pass a few minutes Blue Suede - Hooked on a Feeling Bryan Adams - Heaven or try a few Guns and Roses songs, Posion, White Snake... You know... Some of the great classics. Bon Jovi. Boyz II Men has a few songs that would rock... The Five for Fighting - Superman song still has some life to it. Queen - Bohemian Rhapsody K - Ci and Jojo from the Save the Last Dance soundtrack Kid Rock and Sheryl Crow - Pictures could fit in there... You need to start spying on your kids more often! I know they have more songs than I can count, but blammidy if I can rattle them off! I remember 'em when I hear 'em but I can't name most of them! Good luck Wisc
  4. 3 Desktop and 2 laptops. Scorpio 868W case. Dell laptops *I in no way endorse Dell. Personally I think they are the worse company you can deal with. They put beautiful sounding woman on phone to sell you computer, and some one who can barely speak the langauge in the service departments. Whom hangs up on you making you spend yet another 40 minutes waiting to speak to another "Hell lo? Dunka for talling tell! Me name is ja-ja and me happy to help you today!" * And all I wanted to know is if the computer my brother insisted on buying from them *Because he was in to big a hurry to let me build him a decent one*, had an 8x AGP slot... Information they could have EASILY put up on their website! But not Dell! You'll NEVER catch me buying one! Only reason the laptops are here was because both were company issued, until one was pratically given away. More Photos... Needs dusted - And something needs done with all those wires. Computer in the picture has the following specs. 600W Powersupply replaced the 420W that came in by default. 2.2 Gig Athlon XP 3200+ processor 1.50gigs (3x512MB ) DDR PC2700 *333Mhz* memory (Cheap Infineon kind) SB Live Plat sound card thing with 6.1 Surround Sound *Creative Cambridge* 256 MB GeForce Personal Cinema FX5700 something another video H20 Cooling is ... You can see in the pictures. I can't spell for crap. Aquirius something Thermaltake... Hard Drives, there's 6 of them. Total 1,160 Gigs or 1.16TB... DVD-RW, CD-RW and the other basics... Did I forget something? Black Computers have same specs other than listed below: Barton Core 2500+ XP 1.83Gigs... *They were a great price* 1 has 1 Gig of memory, other only has 512. Both have a SATA 120G hard drive Their burners and etc. I threw a crazy looking cup/can holder and ciggeratte lighter in one computer cause it was cheap and looked kewl. All are lit up like the forth of july cause we found these really nice fans for like 3 bucks each if you bought five. Xoxide's website has that and lots of other kewlio things! *BTW - Fans have passthrus which allow you to keep on hooking 'em up as long as your PSU lets you. Main reason I got them.* We got these Mag Innovision monitors at Best Buy for like 150 bucks but they all had a 50 dollar rebate on them! Not bad for 19".... Naturally we couldn't pass up that deal! We took one for each PC. I'm mainly proud of the Camera I just bought! It's mega kewl! Only cost me $888 bucks! I know that sounds bad, but it normally runs $1,000 at the local stores! Almost got a crappy overseas model of same camrea that wouldn't have had battery, charger, etc... That would have been bad... Sony Cybershot DSC-F828 Still takes getting use to with all the functions, but I'm getting there! It's so pretty! Of course I love my computer too, but I'm use to it. This camera is my new favorite for the moment! Cheers mates! Wisc
  5. Otay. After seeing all the bickering in the unattended forums I had to see if there was a place for post that didn't belong there. And walla! I found this place. A photo... Otay, I'm game. Link to see photo! I made it simple for you to guess who I was. Name is Wisc mates! It doesn't mean I'm from Wisconsin, I found it in an old whichcraft book. It is said to be the Norse God of Wisdom and War. Cheers Wisc Wait for it, it will come...
  6. I'm making an Unattended DVD and space isn't much of an issue with me... Thanks for sharing! Wisc
  7. I was in hopes the infomation for the TXTSETUP.SIF would be included... I get the feeling I'm not reading the INF files right. Some of them didn't even have the PCI information in them. See? 8. Hey hey hey Astalavista, please don't take it personally! It's NOT you, it's the SUBJECT! Honest I don't even KNOW you and I'm sorry that it happened to be a post you posted that I happened to comment on. And I hate to do this, but just because I posted 17 messages doesn't mean I didn't spend much time here. I spent 3 months here as a lurker. It wasn't until about 7 months ago I even started doing forums. I've ALWAYS been the lurker. But another site I visit made it very clear that the LEAST one could do was leave a Thank You messae in return for someones effort and I totally agree with that. And Astalavista, I understand you are the one whom needs to be thanked as well. you and all the Mods. There's ALOT of work being done around here and you guys are doing a great job! A special "GREAT JOB" to Alanoll for his awesome ability to keep a cool head and argue VERY well as not to upset a person but clearly make his points clear and understandable. Point is you guys shouldn't have to deal with this, your Mods. You don't need to explain yourselves. The fact you take the time to show you care is what makes this place sucessfull... Yeah, it seems people are feeling offended with being told to search. Sometimes as it's been pointed out to me, it's nessary. Since the Mods deal with it more than I do, I'm backing down on my comment... It's easy to voice an opinion as a third person point of view... But it's really not my place. Astalavista, Alanoll, other mods I haven't ran across yet... This site has been... Exciting! It put me to the test as far as my wits go, the final reward is really exciting, and I'm having fun the more I put into this. You guys/gals have done an excellent job and you deserve to be thanked from us. Along with the major contributers to the forums, I personally wish to extend my most sincere and extreme gratitude. Thank you! And happy holidays
  9. I thought using RunOnceEx.cmd files was the only thing you'd use Application Switches for other than that Batch file method I left behind when I found out about RunOnceEx... Sorry I honestly thought it was in the right place. I understand your view on the Search now, again remember people do get angry when they work so hard to try and understand something and fail. But it's not my job to point that out to you. I feel much better now that I managed to find my answer. Whew! You'd be surprised what catches your eyes, and what misses your eyes, when your focused on finding something! Thanks for the tip as I will find that very useful... Using the Google search did that for me and I read them. Understanding them is a different matter however. The msfn search, I put read all post from forever and not the last 30 days and the results is what scared me away from using that. Way to many responses!!! All the stuff you said about the Search that went against what I said... I'm impressed you thought I made sense and actually responded so very intelligently. I guess I was naieve enough to think a link to the proper answer would be posted instead of someone trying to re-explain the answer. Your 100% correct about not being sure of the correct answer if everyone tried answering. Very nice how you responded on this subject! And because of your response, the whole section about the poll is poopy now. Scratch that completely!!! Forgive me as I'm replying as I read... And I know this has been covered as the reason I was so upset was I remember seeing it and not understanding it at the time, but wanted another shot at it. Regardless if I found my answer, you answered another question with the rundll32.exe iernonce.dll,RunOnceExProcess As I read this from a result I got from cutting my multiple into multi and trying that in my search *SUCESS!* Seeing that line of code raised the question "What is that all about!" I understood the cmd file going in order so if you listed the cmd files in the very first one, each one would have to be excuted first before moving on to the next one. HOWEVER, I would have STILL been wrong because your code there was nessary!!! THANK you... My search DIDN'T answer my question, however you just did! THANKS THANKS THANKS! ****!!!! I can't BELIEVE how useful your response is! I expected someone to tell me off ten different ways to sundown! Instead I'm feeling like a major JERK!!! Finishing up what you wrote, again... Me jerk... You suggesting to xper means that you can agree with what I said about it being distracting to newbies... I am SOOO sorry for my ranting... Kinda glad I did it because I never been helped like I ... I was wrong. This place rocks, this place has really great administration who is VERY helpful... I just made an aweful mistake. You let me know if there's a way I can make up for this thread... In the mean time I hope you accept my apoligies. Wisc P.S. Find my answer post? Lost me on that line cause you answered beyond a shadow of a doubt what I was looking for!
  10. Well he's not alone. I thought it was rude too, but that's probably because I've been searching for hours trying to figure out something, I DON'T want to bring up here because that would make it even harder for the next person who wants to know about it , to find it... People asking questions and not getting answers make it VERY difficult for the search to work. When you get 78 pages, most of them telling the person to search it's been discussed already... FINDING where it's been discussed already is the hard part. If you don't HAVE the answer, I believe it best you not say nothing then because snapping at someone to search is mean... I've been here quite some time, and just tonight I learned that the search near the top of the page under the google ads... Well there's another one up further by the Help, Members, Calander buttons... Someone uses something that works sometimes, they don't bother looking around for it... It's only till they need something else that the search might actually cross their eyes. Anyway, I ranted enough about this. Wisc
  11. Thanks Bashrat I couldn't imagine why someone hasn't made this a Sticky for the DriverPack MassStorage, but I took the hint and threw it in search... Will be VERY useful! Thanks again! Wisc
  12. RunOnceEx.cmd has to many applications... Made new .cmd files for catagories making a cleaner looking install. Alanoll's code works great rundll32.exe iernonce.dll,RunOnceExProcess More Information http://www.msfn.org/board/index.php?showtopic=33087&hl= Wisc
  13. I plan on using Alanoll's advice and making my RunOnceEx.cmd one file using rundll32.exe iernonce.dll,RunOnceExProcess to separate the windows from overflowing and making catagories. Question: Can you put a new Title after the rundll32.exe iernonce.dll,RunOnceExProcess and can you leave a single empty command such as that found on 075??? Or to have individually titled windows, would I have to use the other method of individual cmd files using RunOnceEx.cmd to execute them individually? Mucci Graciously apperciated for all help! Wisc
  14. Question along these lines: IF... If you intergrate SATA drivers into the unattended CD or DVD.... Do you have to have the SATA drive in the PC? I'd like to intergrate it so if/when the customer decides to put a SATA drive in, the Unattended DVD will be ready to go. Or will I have to make 2 of them, one for their IDE hard drive and 1 for their SATA? To advoid "Harddrive not Found" screen... Thanks in advance for answers! Wisc
  15. 83 doesn't show up in NAV alone. 82 does but not 83... At least it doesn't in my 2004 and my moms 2005... NAV Reg Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00 [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Symantec\CCPD-LC] [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Symantec\CCPD-LC\KStore] [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Symantec\CCPD-LC\KStore\00000082] [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Symantec\CCPD-LC\KStore\00000082\0000000f] [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Symantec\CCPD-LC\KStore\00000082\0000000f\0000001b] "Key"="XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX" [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Symantec\CCPD-LC\SymLCSvc] "Install Count"=hex:01,00,00,00 I was wondering 2 things. Is it nessary to make the hirachey as it appears when you export? Or can I just take the last 82 line? Is the install count important?
  16. The -r and -R switch won't work on this exe... *Thus the -s Switch is useless cause you haffta put in Serial Number, and Working Directory* And it's all I have is one exe a little over five megs... Has anyone managed to include this in their appz list for their RunOnceEx.cmd file? Due to lack of answer, I figured I had no choice but to use Install Rite to make a silent package. Wisc
  17. I LIKE it! I just did my Sound Blaster Audigy crap like that too after I kinda got the jypst of it from someone elses RunOnceEx file thing they posted. And you verified that it's not only otay to do, but a great ideal too! Sweeeet! This is one major learning process I tell ya! I had to give up on my Adobe Acrobat Professional 6 being behind the scenes. the /qn switch wasn't working. However /qr seems to be working fine. Which told me to shut down Netscape, so I tried it all over again and no matter what I can only get it working with /qr... REG ADD %KEY%\045 /VE /D "Adobe Acrobat Professional 6" /f REG ADD %KEY%\045 /V 1 /D "%SystemDrive%\Install\Photoshop\Acrobat6\AcroPro.msi /qr" /f Reader installed fine. This one a big poo poo... No biggie though, cause it IS unattended DVD... I shouldn't see all this stuff anyway. Wisc
  18. THANK you... The adding 1 in the ini didn't really help me much because the first screen pops up and with the -s switch after making an .iss it's completely hidden, silent, etc... However your pointing us to the proper location in the registery to get information to add to the MCE_SYM.reg file... MAJOR KEWL! http://www.msfn.org/board/index.php?showtopic=32147&st=40 I went ahead and put it to use where one would expect to find the information. Much apperciated! Wisc

BTW: symlcrst.dll is RARed with the SFX comments in the NAV.exe in the reg file. And the Reg file? I assume I put MY key where the X's are right? And are the dashes suppose to be there? 20. Mind has been boggled to *BLEEP* on the bootscreen. Using XP Pro, Sp2... I have no problem creating the image, but then I was reading how you haffta change hex code in the ntoskrnl.exe ... So I decided to search for some that have already been done. None I've found seem to be working for XP2... So I was leaning toward using the INI method where I thought it would take the bootscreens but the ntoskrnl.exe would still be the orginal and windows would still use it as it should regardless of updates and service packs. I don't want a program to install to do it for me. I want a method I can use now *OS installed*, and where I can put it on unattended DVD... Can someone do a better job explaining how this can be done with SP2 or give a link to some already modified ntoskrnl.exe that are virus free, work with xp pro Sp2, and aren't totally lame and gay? The one I'd like most is the President Seal one. Toodles, and thanks in advance. Wisc
  21. My similar problem was HardWare related. I bought Cheap Ram and the only way to get past a certain point in installing windows, was boosting up the Voltage on the Ram. See Windows worked great with the 1 gig I had, but I was building a friends computer and he got a 1 Gig Chip and I wanted to try it out. *sigh* That took me on a road of hell. Anyway no matter what I did, I couldn't get Windows reinstalled. At first I kept getting a IRQ_Not_Less_Or_Equal error, but then it was acting like everything was fine, but always rebooted. *My guess is the default System Failure System Reboot option you find in the Startup and Recovery* Once I got the voltage working properly with the Ram, the problem went away. But I still feel the need for better Ram. Some programs refuse to work for me. Windows Media Encoder and that Windows Movie Maker program always fail. So far that's it though. Hope this helps anyone whom also encountered such an error, cause I know after spending 2 weeks myself trying to figure it out... *sigh* Wisc
  22. I haffta agree. I've been trying to figure all this out without asking any questions or help from anyone. Most of the stuff I wanna know already has been covered. The only reason I jumped in and registered was to let one message I seen posted about Japan releasing a Sony with a TB hard drive or something. I hurried and let everyone know you can get a LaCie 7200 RPM USB2, or Firewire 400/800 hard drive as well. 500 GB and 1 TB drives. 1 TB use to be 800 something but is back up to 906. It use to be 1200 when it first came out. So it's dancing a bit. Location if anyone is interested is at compusabusiness.com Look in the Hard Drives and narrow your search to 500Gigs and Higher. So... Anyone with the desire to get a TB hard drive won't haffta wait for Japan to release their Sony computers and charge 4 grand for the setup. Was it worth me jumping in with my 2 cents? If anyone gets excited and rushes off to get their own TB drive, I'd say so. If I had to wait a week, I'd have moved on and never signed up. Some people get addicted to Forums. Some people don't. The reason I don't care for them much is because often times than not, the Administrators of forums get on an "I'm GOD!" trip. And it's easier to move on than trying to put them in their place. I'm sure plenty of people can agree with that. Life is to short to be behind your monitor trying to prove a point.
