  1. There have been a few posts regarding problems with multi-boot discs that have server 2003 installations with sp2 slipstreamed. I found a few topics that look like they mention the fix, but I’m having trouble deciphering them. The topics I found are: http://www.msfn.org/board/index.php?showtopic=95231 http://www.msfn.org/board/index.php?showto...mp;#entry580692 I hate to ask this (I usually scoff when other people ask this on forums) but could someone outline the steps that are being explained in these topics?
  2. are you talking about remote desktop connection? right mouse click on my conputer, go to properties, then click the remote tab. its all in there.
  3. Putting together a bootable cd and any recommendations on additional software (or better software) would be appreciated. So far im thinking: ERD 2005 bartpe? -HDD Manufacturer Utils Western Digital Maxtor & Quantum Seagate & Conner IBM & Fujitsu Samsung Hitachi Ontrack Data Advisor -Partition Management & Backup/Restore Partition Magic 8.05 Partition Magic Pro 7.0 Volume Manager 2.0 Drive Image 2002 (6.0) Drive Copy 4.0 BootMagic 7.0 Ghost Corporate 8.2 (Symantec Ghost Solution Suite 1.0) Ghost 2003 Spin Rite 6 -Ram testing Memtest86+ 1.65 DocMem 2.2b -Data Destruction Darik's Boot and Nuke 1.0.6 WipeDrive Pro 3.0.2 -Data Recovery Ontrack Easy Recovery 6.1 Professional Winternals Disk Commader 1.1 O&O Unerase 2 O&O Disk Recovery 3
  4. http://home.comcast.net/~paulhoule/doskey/ edited version of doskey (dos only). Smaller than the original doskey and has support for autocomplete via the tab key (not just autocomplete for previously used commands as with the original doskey) - this version of doskey is also included in barts cd boot disk http://www.nu2.nu/bootdisk/cdrom/
  5. There we go, doskey.COM off a win98 machine works. the doskey.EXE off xp didnt.
  6. Im booting off a xp bootable disk with doskey on it, and i get the following error when i try to run doskey: "This program cannot be run in DOS mode"
  7. Is there a way to enable long filenames, command history and auto-complete when using a dos bootable disk? Title Edited - Please follow new posting rules from now on. --Zxian
  8. I found an app that will validate(test) xp cd keys, its called XP KeY ReCoVeRER AND DiSCOVErER. Theres a few different variations of this app out there, but 2 out of 3 have the key validation option. (the "wet paper bag" distro dosent have this). I havent been able to test this yet, but im told it works for oem keys only. If anyone knows of a more complete validator, please post here.
  9. im looking for an app that can tell me what type of xp key you have (ie. oem, retail, volume license). I need to be able to punch the key in and have it tell me, not the type of app that detects the current systems type (although if anyone knows of an app that does that too that be great)
  10. sp2 is a collection of every update that has ever been released since the release of xp up to the day they released sp2 (which would include sp1) so refering to sp1 and sp2 being integrated on your cd is just silly, because sp2 has sp1 in it!
  11. Many of the isos use propritary os's like the seagate diag cd, acronis recovery expert, and oo bluecon(?) i know how floppy image handlers work, and have made some multi windows/winpe cds. I tried this with Drive Image 7 for example, and it refused to boot when combined with winternals erd. >You could do what a traditional multiboot does, and extract the ISO to the >DVD/CD, then have cdshell (or similar) load teh bootsector of the iso, which >then would act like you loaded teh entire ISO. This may require some >hexing....
  12. Are there any apps out there yet that allow you to emulate/link cd images like you can with floppys(mount an iso)? Ive looked everywhere and can seem to find any solutions. If your an EE member, you can pickup 300 points for this one http://www.experts-exchange.com/Operating_...Q_21312086.html
