  1. that was the answer you'd directed me to (So finally in the Sound Preferences i selected the Output Tab and then choose “Internal Audio Analog Stereo.” and under the settings I set it to Analog speakers. After that I was able to hear sound from the laptop speakers.) but really couldn't find the sound preferences... forgive my ignorance cos I am new in software thing. thanx 4 your reply

Dear friends, I am new here and a friend has recommended this forum to me, my problem is after formatting hp 620 (windows seven ultimate) all the drivers were beautifully installed but the audio were lost from the speakers, I have sound from the headset, actually this problem is very common world wide, the guys who use linux did manage to solve this problem at their OS but till now couldn't find anyone solve it in Windows 7....thanx a lot for your time.
