  1. Hi, this topic may already have been posted, but I searched and couldn't find it. Neway, I want to silent install Yahoo Messenger 6, but don't know the switches, or how to obtain the full version of the software. Please help, thanks!
  2. Prathapml, then how does that become an "unattended install"? I believe he wants to be prompted for the cd-key.
  3. Harunaskoy, I believe you missed the part where I said, "For both an AMD and Intel PC". Norton Ghost only works on the PC you are working with.
  4. Yes, thx for all the replies . But I think I should've made my post more narrow. So, I am looking for a program that could automate almost any programs. Notepad may be a good tool, but it won't automate programs that don't have the special attributes such as /Q /S and so on. I want a program that could autofill the options shown in any installer. I tried AutoIt, but I dont know how to use it. I thought it was as simple as copying the stuff in the Window Spy, pasting its contents into Notepad, and then converting to .exe But the Window Spy does not capture everything. Some other programs, such as InstallRite, just take a snapshot of the system configuration, but I want to use this unattended CD mainly on my AMD computer, but also my upstairs Intel computer. I am gonna try inno setup, hopefully it works.
  5. Heya guys , it would be nice if you can list the programs, IN THIS THREAD, that help you to do Unattended Installation, like WinInstall and InstallRite. This will help everyone, especially newbies like me, to know most of the programs out there that aid in Unattended installation . If you can, please provide a brief description of what the program specifically does, thanks ! This should be made into a sticky to post such programs
  6. Hey guys, I'm also new to the scene, but I always wanted to create an unattended installation. I had NO IDEA that there were others in my shoes . I should've done a search on this stuff way way back . Neway, this topic does fall under "Unattended Windows", so if you do a 2 CD install, then how does it become "unattended"? You have to change the CD at some point, right? The only PURE way to make an unattended Windows install is to use 1 CD or 1 DVD. SOOOO, why not just make a second CD that will run after windows installation that will install the programs and applications? So windows and it's hotfixes and directx, framework, etc. on one CD, then on the second CD include all the applications and make a batch file to run all those applications via an "AUTORUN" file (.inf)? You know, the file that autoplays a CD? I could be wrong, since I'm new, but wouldn't this be better?
