  1. Maybe not what you asked for, but you can try editing directly the Registry:

    http://www.pctools.com/guides/registry/detail/1007/

    to flip the setting

and this should restore the checkbox :

    http://www.softwaretipsandtricks.com/windo...f-it-is-Missing

The above has been around from a lot before XP SP3, I doubt that it was caused by the SP3, but cannot say.

    jaclaz

the registry tweak fixed the problem, i can see hidden files now

but fixing the menu was a bit more problematic, the key Hidden mentioned in http://www.softwaretipsandtricks.com/windo...f-it-is-Missing doesnt exist in the first place :(

copyed that part of the registry from my notebook. fixed the problem. thanks for the help

    No infection found.

    Return code: 0

Microsoft Windows Malicious Software Removal Tool Finished On Fri May 02 18:33:27 2008

this cant be the cause, dont have any viruses. and as i said above i just installed a fresh windows with sp3

    my problem is this one:

    folderoptionska6.th.gif

i dont have the option to enable hidden files and yes i am on the admin account!

  3. i installed xo sp3 yesterday and today i noticed that i can no longer see hidden files on administrator account. and there is no longer an option to enable it in the folder options -> view tab.

any ideas how to fix this?

  4. i have a logitech internet navigator keyboard and i have a noname remote i bought from ebay which has no branding at all, nowhere. its the keys on that remote i want to reassign.

i tryed out the logitech itouch software, it indeed can reassign the media keys on my keyboard, but the media keys on the remote stay the way they were :(

  5. dont have any special software for my keyboard :(, isnt there any registly fix or 3rd party software which can fx that?

after all it changes which home page i get if i change the default web browser...

  6. hi, i was wondering if its possible to bind my keyboard media keys like Home, E-Mail, Favourites to start an application instead of starting my homepage in my webbrowser?

for example i want to bind Home to start my Media Center for my Home Theater

  7. no, i have no problem with that, you are free to change and post changed versions as long as you know what you are doing and give me a credit ;)

..it doesnt run. Habe tried some configurations, load pictures from harddisk, dvd - no function. But now im play a little animation film on detached.cmd and mp3 files with cmdlines.txt .... "multimedia setup"....

i have thought of another thing: did u use nlite to remove any windows components? perhaps this could be the case

  8. well, i would say first learn to read, then post, you used the wrong syntax

    thats how it is done:

    cmdow @ /HID
    start /wait %systemdrive%\Install\Applications\***.exe

    2 LINES!!!!!

    see http://unattended.msfn.org/advanced/methods/runonceex_cd.htm for examples

then it should work. another method is to use cygwins run.exe to start the batch window hidden.

    then you just use

    run.exe yourbatchfile.cmd

  9. i really do not know what is wrong, but i read the forums a bit, and there are really a lot people complaining about detachedprogran not working. i do not know what could be the reason for it. i cannot imagine, that it depends on different xp-cds, and unfortunately ref.chm does not say anything about it. sorry, but i cannot say what to do, it works for me and i do not have any xp-installation that is not working to test it.

before you try to configure the slideshow you should make sure detachedprogram works for you.

  10. i do not know, i have a regular windows xp cd that i patched myself to sp2, well actually i now use a dvd, but thats not the point. i never really had problems using detached program, but i install most of my drivers and programs from [setup params] as you can see from my winnt.sif

if you try my winnt.sif, you should delete the [components] part, cuz then you wont have some programs you could be missing later, like paint and games, but u will have instead iis installed. and of couse enter a valid cd-key

  11. well, if it helps here is my winnt.sif and it does work

  12. do you do this on a windows xp sp2 cd? or on any other windows installation. it was designed for windows xp sp2. if not create an empty text file, name it win51ip.SP2 and put it in the root of ur cd. this coluld also be the case.

try entering %SYSTEMROOT%\system32\cmd.exe into detached program and see if you get a command prompt at the start of the installation just to test detachedprogram

look into ur windows installation and check if there is a file slideshow.cmd in a directory called install. perhaps it did not copy properly?

  13. to test your slideshow simply doubleclick slideshow.hta to see if it works the way you want it to look. and yes it should appear directly at the beginning of the setup.

    - I copy all the slideshow files including the images I want for the slideshow

    into the path: $OEM$\$1\install.

only slideshow.hta is required in $OEM$\$1\install

-Inside the  filelist.js_ I input the image's name such as you have it in your example

    Image1, Image2, Image3, etc...(my images names are Image1, Image2, Image3, etc...)

it must be named "filelist.js" not "filelist.js_". and could you plz post your filelist.js?

-I also change the "defaultback" image from the original pixel size to

739x637 because I want all the images to be the same size when the slide show starts.

this is not required at all because the program automatically changes the size of all your images including defaultback.jpg to the appropriate size to fit your monitor resolution.

remember: do not make any changes to slideshow.hta

if nothing helps, mail me your files (slideshow.hta, slideshow.cmd, filelist.js, config,js and text.js) without the images to websee@gmx.net and ill look into what you could have done wrong
