  1. I know you said youve tested your memory etc, but remove one of your memory chips and try again if it occurs try using the other memory chip. This may also relate to another hardware problem, but the best way is to do it one at a time and start with removing one of the memory chips.

  2. This may help go to

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\Lsa and look for disabledomaincreds set this to 1

download and install windows washer from

    http://www.webroot.com/products/windowwasher/

install the extra modules and run the program. Restart. This should clear the list and stop it from remembering in future due to the above tweak (you can uninstall the program if you wish, unless you want to buy it)

  3. Not 100% sure about a registry file however you can do this by right clicking my computer select properties - Advanced- Starup and recovery select Settings. You can do the same by typing in msconfig (in the Run box) and selecting Boot.ini.

Im sure you can create batch file if thats of any use to you.

  4. You should change the follwing key:

    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Desktop

menushowdelay should be MenuShowDelay - right click and then select modify. If you cant make any changes make sure you have admin access - i guess your saying "I have admin access" in that case click Edit (whilst the key is highlighted)> Permissions and ensure your name is listed with access.

  5. I usually have the problem of accounts still appearing after ive changed or amended the registry tweak given, and usually works in the following order:

    1. Create an admin account using the user accounts in Control Panel (ill call this sysadmino)

    2. Once created go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon\SpecialAccounts\UserList

right click for a new DWord value name it sysadmino and give it a value of 0

    3. Reboot and you should be done.

If you have files on the old admin account you can easily copy them over using another account.

I know this is probably the same info already given however i thought the order that you should perform the above task may be something that you may want to take a look at.

  6. Try to open up regedit (using task manager) then go to:

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE

    System

    CurrentControlSet

    Services

    RpcSs

on the right hand side you will see

    ObjectName

    Select Modify (right click ObjectName)

    and change it to

    LocalSystem

    Then reboot
