  1. I had it right down there in my signature file as well. How funny. Thanks Ravashaak.
  2. I need to add this tool as well as the fix for it so that machines that don't pass can go ahead run the MS updates without getting hit with the validation error. I have the reg file that fixes it. I am using an older Windows Unattended Install disk with a version of XP Pro that already has SP2. I created an answer file some time back and burned the CD Image. The CD works like a charm and has for months. I just need to know how best to now add the Genuine Advantage Tool and fix, as well as the newer MS updates. I might want to add in a couple of Apps also but I have never done that. What would you guys suggest as a way to add to that CD?
  3. I remember seeing a way to test unattended installs a while back using some sort of simulation program that did a fantastic job of simulating the windows environment. It let me see, the complete OS unattended install process before I burned it to a CD. Does anyone know of what that program might have been called. It was commercially available and was incredibly easy to use.
  4. I would like to have an auto-install of Windows and all my apps. I have been successful with the Windows with SP2 auto-install (with the exception of partitioning) and am trying to include the apps now. I am running into all kinds of problems along the way. I got the Net Framework 1.1 SP1 update to auto-install, but can't seem to get nero63125.exe, or Java's runtime 1.4.2_05 to work yet. These switches are hell! Ideally I would like to be able to boot to the CD and completely walk away where default apps would install without any intervention, and then clean up my desktop and rename the icons to my specification. The bottom line is that I would like to have a completely automated "set it and forget it" Auto-Install DVD. Can anyone give me clearer instructions on the switches I need? Is there ONE list of switches anywhere that gets updated? Nero 6.3.1.25 Java 1.4.2.05 (I’ve done this one successfully) Firefox 1.0PE (preferably pre-configured with a couple of helpful extensions and 5 bookmarks) Typing Master (latest version) Shockwave's plug-in for Firefox AVG's free anti-virus (preferably pre-configured to scan at night instead of during the day by default) QuickTime Player MS Office 2003 package (with slipstreamed updates) Adobe reader (preferably configured not to ask for updates by default) Yahoo Instant Messenger (pre-configured to not start at boot-up) Typing Master Spybot Search and Destroy 1.3 Adaware Pro DESKTOP ICONS (renamed, and in order along the left side of screen as follows): Recycle Bin (lower right) Icons, My Computer My Documents Spybot and Adaware (in a folder called "speed up my computer" Learn to use your Mouse (folder with 3 "learn to use your mouse" websites) Learn to Type easily and quickly (Typing Master) Easily create CD's and DVDs (Nero) Web Browser Icon (Firefox) Yahoo Instant Messenger Games (with shortcut to default windows games) MS Word (the MS Office word processor) MS Excel (the MS Office spreadsheet program) Greeting Cards, School Projects, etc (MS Publisher)
  5. You need to edit the line and put your own key in I have put my own serial number in for Nero. I think the error is regarding the "registry" key. I must be missing something. Can you advise further?
  6. Thank you for that post. I still get "invalid key name" when testing the batch file. Also I am not sure how to change the SFX script in Winrar. What I did manage to change it seems, is simply the comment about it. Please advise ??
