  1. yep I got the commands nailed in diskpart using a .CMD or .BAT , But how do I start diskpart and call these commands before the winnt.sif takes control of the disk partitioning, I want to set the partitions up B4 the winnt.sif does, How??, do i need to edit another file somewere so it does it before the SIF file takes over im not sure... Cheers Limey
  2. Thanks for that, I had seen this discussion but it is talking about the winnt.sif controlling the autopartition of the HDD. What I would like to do is partition the HDD prior to this point using bartpe\winpe's diskpart, has anyone tried or used this method in an unatended XP setup CD?? if so how did you achieve it ???? Cheers limey
  3. Hi Everyone, Does anyone know how to autoamtically create multiple partitions of specific sizes on a single hard disk drive using an unattended XP setup, the user guide mentions using a third party software package like Winpe or Bartpe, I have both and have used a little but I am unsure how to incorporate it into my setup CD and use diskpart. Has anyone done this?? Cheers Limey...

  5. Hello again, Sorry for the previous post newbie and all that!!! My problem is that when I boot a machine up using the CD I created from the ISO that I made it does not use the winnt.sif for the unattended install, now I may have done somthing wrong but I have followed the guide twice over now and it does it the same every time, even if I completely remove the winnt.sif. I'm just a little confused as to the process of creating the winnt.sif, I created the file as mentioned in my first post. used setupmgr to create the unattend.txt, renamed the file to winnt.sif and moved it into the i386 directory. I did notice it created another file called unattend.bat ?? do i need to do anything with this because if you edit this file it has references to the unattend.txt file, the guide does not mention this file. If someone could just talk me through the proceses required to get this working it would be much appreciated Thanks Limey..
  6. Hello Can someone help, I recently found your website in a quest to automate XP installs on PC's at my work place, I have followed the tutorials in the unattended sections and created a test ISO image to try on my version of VMware, all ok so far... And here is my problem, I created an unattend.txt file using setupmgr and renamed the file to winnt.sif and then copied the file into the i386 directory, and created the iso all fine, when i test the iso in vmware it always starts an attended install and not the unattended via the winnt.sif, the tutorial seems a little vague around the area and i was wondering if someone could just clarify the processes needed to use the winnt.sif for an unattended install Cheers Limey..
