ok, I tried it a few more times...this will work from start run "xcopy.exe /y "%systemdrive%\APPS\QUICKLAUNCH\*.*" "%systemdrive%\Documents and Settings\Administrator\Application Data\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Quick Launch\". But it will not work from runonce or in a .cmd file. Any thoughts? Ed

I will find out in a few minutes after I get vmware up and running. but the syntax is : xcopy.exe /y "%cdrom%\Install\Quicklaunch\*.*" "%systemdrive%\Documents and Settings\Administrator\Application Data\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Quick Launch" does this look correct? Ed
Would this be the proper way to make a link that points to 'explorer' and then make a shortcut for the quick launch bar? shortcut.exe /f:"%Administrator%\Application Data\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Quick Launch\explorer.lnk" /a:c /t:"%SystemRoot%\explorer.exe" /W:"%SystemRoot%\explorer" Ed
