  1. I'm grateful for your concern Andre. Beautiful explanation for the driver delay. I would like to mention another thing. My boot up time has increased by 4 seconds with time. I first thought it is due to my SSD filling up with DATA. So I decided to move programs onto other drives to get back the old boot time, but in vain. The WINSXS folder is around 4.2GB, which isn't much either to blame it for the increase in delay. But I think I have to agree with you on the Drivers Loading issue. Before this trace (the one i sent in the last post), I ran another test and that was very untidy. In the drivers graph, i found FLTMGR.SYS starting and closing like 80+ times in like 10 seconds. Do drivers need to run multiple instances? I have been installing many sorts of drivers and programs of different sort, but with time I have removed all of them. So assume there are useless drivers lying in the drivers folder. How can I manage to get rid of them? I cannot get Kaspersky to disable from the startup, it has some self protective security that denies all rights, But I made tuneup utilities service to start up with a delay. Thanks again
  2. Hello MSFN! Let me get my story in short. I always wished to have a PC that would boot up in less than 5 seconds. For that reason, i bought an SSD, just to use it as an OS DRIVE. OCZ_VERTEX_32G. With the SSD, i did notice a good deal of change in the boot time. However, there was still something that annoyed me, and now I have come to trace my boot and see what its all about. When the PC first takes detects windows and when the text "STARTING WINDOWS" appear, I have like 3/4 seconds of IDLE pause there. It is an Idle Phase, where I can see the Starting Windows Text, But with No Pearls/Colored Drops/Logo. Then after 3 seconds the harddisk starts to pick up and the logo_drops/Pearls start to appear. This issue was Not there in the HDD, but has started appearing since the new SSD. So right now, I followed the tutorial in the first post and I have the boot_trace file uploaded to dropbox. Here - http://dl.dropbox.com/u/1518581/boot_BASE%2BCSWITCH%2BDRIVERS%2BPOWER_1.rar There is a huge graph formed in the HARD FAULTS section. I'm not so good with understanding that but, I have attached the trace file for that reason. if you could just take one look and tell me if there is anything I can do to improve the bootup. You tutorial really is a complete guide. Specially the manual download link to the tools. When I first wanted to trace_boot a few months ago, I dropped the idea when I failed to download the tools with the MS's default download manager, but this manual download link alone encouraged me to use it this time. Thanks
