  1. Since my last posting, I've made progress in exporting most of the files, but I've still had trouble exporting two Access tables to dBase (I use dBase IV), either directly or through an OLE DB connection. In one of the tables, it's because I'm given the prompt: "Cannot define a field more than once." That table has several pairs of similarly named fields (though not with the exact same name) - e.g. Hauteur RG and Hauteur RD. I even tried changing the name of one field in each of these pairs (e.g. RG_Hauteur and RD_Hauteur, or Hauteur RG and Altor RD), and I'd still be given the same prompt. How can I resolve it? The other table contains photos that are embedded in "Image bitmap" quotes in the images column; when I export that to dBase and thence to ArcGIS, either ArcGIS closes automatically or the photo column is gone or made irrelevant. How can I export this table and still keep the photos?
  2. I have a few problems related to Access and dbf I'm stuck with. Maybe you'd know more. First, there are a whole bunch of records that I made within an Access 2000 mdb file, and I managed to export most of these as dbf's. There was one record, however, telling me "cannot define a field more than once". And the field names are all different, even if only slightly! How do I get around this? Another problem is that most of the records which I did manage to export have dbt files along with dbf's, thereby preventing me from seeing previews on ArcCatalog (part of ArcGIS). The one record that I exported for which I saw a preview turned out to not have a dbt file, and so I was able automatically generate an XML as I opened up to the preview on ArcCatalog. How could I get the other records to not generate a dbt file? I even played around by exporting to dBase III and dBase V as well as dBase IV (which is what I mainly use) - same results. In addition, I installed the MDB to DBF Converter from WhiteTown, and it converted the Access records to dbf's alright, except that I couldn't see the content in some of the columns (especially the latter ones). In a nutshell, what's the best way to export or convert Access records to dbf without complications?
