  1. I tried switching the RX & TX and did not see any difference. How would I perform a loopback test? thanks!
  2. Howdy & thanks for the welcome. I was not able to get any echo from the terminal session-hitting a Control Z did nothing, no prompt. The adapter seems to be ok, it shows up in device manager and is new. I did double check all connections, checked the voltage from the 3 volt battery to the USB adapter and it was fine.
  3. Hi Guys, I have a bricked Seagate here that a customer brought in with hopes of having its data recovered. Well, I obtained the necessary components, read and read the instructions, connected and tried the repair. What I'm hearing is the drive trying to spin up then stop, try to spin up, stop... I checked the voltage going to the spindle and found it it going on and off so I'm thinking a replacement PCB just might fix the problem. However, a Google search for a replacement drive or PCB just returns to here or the Seagate forum. The drive in question is a Seagate 750 (HP OEM) with firmware HP24. Thanks, Ed
