Unfortunately this did not work. I found a script that does what I wish, but it works on my laptop only, not the desktop I am trying to have it work on. The only difference I can discern between the desktop and laptop computers is that the former first loads the normal windows desktop and icons and then switches to the new wallpaper and icons; the laptop only loads the new wallpaper and icons and when running the script eliminates the shadow. Any other suggestions? How do I eliminate Windows from first loading its desktop wallpaper initially?

How do I make the text background for my desktop icons transparent ? I have installed my own desktop wallpaper and the text box surrounding all the icons has a blue background. I need the background to go away!! Aaron

I recently installed my own destop wallpaper that has a nonuniform background and coloration. Any thoughts on how to make the boxes surrounding the icon script on the desktop transparent? Currently the box shade has the color of the original Windows desktop. I am using XP Pro.
