  1. Okay here's the problem i'm having. I cannot get mrsmartepants addon for ryanvm to work properly. It installs into the windows file and i drag and drop my oem folder with my royalty keys, but it looks like the script simply just doesnt run during install. I need this to over write the current key thats in my unattended file. Or is there a generic install key that wont activate for xp home, pro, media center, and tablet editions? Can anyone help me with getting this installed and working? One thing to note is that eventually i'll be combining all of these onto a multiboot disc so if its easier to add once thats been created please let me know and thankyou for your help.
  2. Tdunk18, I see you are back to running nLite under W7 (or Vista). As I said before, this is doomed to failure if you include an SP. Enjoy, John. Yea i need to get my vmware setup right i had to reset media center edition last night on it so i had to use 7 to run nlite. I will try the addonmaker with microsoft security essentials today and see if it makes a difference. However xp wont be activated so security essentials prolly cannot install.
  3. Microsoft security essentials did not install it only shows this. (picture attached) Last Session.ini
  4. http://www.ryanvm.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=8159&highlight=openoffice would that be a good open office to modify with the addon utility with the switch -ai ?
  5. perfect thats exactly what i did! thanks for the picture that helps ALOT!. Haha i dont suppose you know the answer to my oemscan autoactivation question do you haha? Least to get it working hmm i wonder if i can download the addon extract it add all the keys into the files then use the addon utility to like maybe issue a switch to run the software during windows installation is that possible? The actual activator is an exe?
  6. I tried making it with the nlite addon maker so i included those switches you mentioned above. now i have a .cab for essentials so hopefully it works. Everytime i tried to access the give command menu it kept telling me i was missing something silent.itc thing. Dunno what that is. Anyway i'm going to go ahead and redo my installations again and test them on vmware wish me luck.
  7. the addon maker listed above cannot do microsoft security essentials. Do you mean running a script after install?
  8. cool thankyou i've looked for open office and the only download link thats currently working is the one i downloaded haha. i'll check again and see if it was updated. Anyone have any news about integrating oemscan with nlite maybe?
  9. The addons that are not working are Java, Open Office, Flash 10.1. and i would have no idea how to make microsoft security essentials an addon so thats why i doubt it would work lol. I'm relatively..... slow on the programming level sometimes.
  10. Tdunk18, how did you integrate the AddOns? I see none in the Last Session. Here is a link to an AddOn maker on RyanVM forum. There is also a "How to" above in the AddOn sub-forum. Both of these forums should be good candidates for AddOns. They are fairly easy to make but you should know that there are basically two types. One is a real or integrated AddOn in which the files are integrated by nLite and there are .inf or svcpack ones, where nLite creates a .inf file and includes the installer in the svcpack folder to be executed during install. I use only the IE8 AddOn (XP x64) so am not familiar with all of yours and cannot comment if they are just bad. It is a real possibility. XP MCE should be fine for running nLite. I install most of my applications using the Unattended-RunOnce exit and WPI. I use Open Office, Thunderbird and many more. The guide I follow is Kurt_Aust's - here. It is for XP x64, but the techniques are applicable to XP. The WPI forum is a couple below the nLite one. Did you drop all updates and oemscan this run? I noticed only SP2 was integrated - why? You only need to integrate SP3, no matter what your CD has on it. Enjoy, John. The way i do it is when its done with the service packs it says add hotfixes, updates, and addons. I do it then i just simply select it like an update and it adds it to the list. let me show you a picture. and i dont know why it isnt telling you right because look at this, this is what nlite is telling me it see's. Its already got sp3 slipstreamed to it. And to your question yes i went ahead and added updates but i did not add in oem scan. The updates and addon packs are supposed to install together.
  11. Tdunk18, you can run nLite under VMware. I am not familiar with some of the terms you are using (slp, aio). I hope you are not using nLite in a work environment. The nLite license only allows personal use. It is available in the nLite folder in the Program Files folder. Please give it a read. Assuming you are OK with the license, please do post more information. The more the better. We like to see screen shots of error messages (another advantage of testing under a VM). We will take at look at oemscan, but know nothing at this time, so we should attach other problems first. Enjoy, John. Okay well here is an update to my current struggle with nlite addons. I added 6 total to it and only adobe reader 9, IE8, and vlc worked. I have attached a picture of the addons i was using. Mainly this is the software i want nlite to install for me. The lastest openoffice, flash, adobe reader, vlc, java, and IE8. Are the addon's broken maybe? and do you guys know where i might find one / easily create one. I also did all of this on windows xp media center edition. Hopefully thats okay?. The drivers from driverpacks installed fine. It would be great to if i could use nlite to install microsoft security essentials but i'm somewhat doubtful it could. I also went ahead and did not include the oem pre activation at all since i need to get this stuff working first. Also do you guys know a link to microsofts generic install keys? the ones that will let it install but not activate online. I need that for the pre activation and am having trouble locating one. 12. Okay maybe thats my problem can i run nlite under vmware? Also i will upload a new session ini later today and show you guys what all addons arent working properly. Also any help with oemscan would be great. Can i integrate that with nlite? or is there an addon that does auto activation for nlite that i can use? I do have the slp keys ect... because the aio's made before me have them included ( i guess the guy tracked them down ).
  13. Hopefully the new one i uploaded is the one you need, and i included a link to the website where i saw oemscan.
  14. Okay here's what i set out to do. I wanted to integrate on one dvd. XP Pro, XP Media Center Edition, XP Home, and XP Tablet Edition all on one disc. I want them to have all of their updates. I want it to OEM activate using Oemscan, i want it to be completely unattended during installation, and finally i want it to install drivers and (some software). Here what i have been using. Nlite (updates, service packs) (attempted to use to add addons) Driver Packs (installs the latest driver packs) Ryan VM (to integrate oemscan) Mrsmartepants (oem scan addon) CD Shell (havent gotten that working yet since i'm still stuck on step one) Okay so whats i've been able to do thus far. I can get service packs and updates to install fine no problem. However only 2 of my addons actually load out of 8. All downloaded from win addons. So thats what i have "working". I cannot get oem scan to work i have a set of the keys and slp stuff that i need. It just never seems to run. even using unattended on nlite it still asks me for a cd key (which i want to skip) its supposed to activate. Here's the steps i've been using for integration. 1: Nlite to install service packs, updates, and addons. 2. Ryan VM to install oem smartepants addon. 3. Drag and drop oem keys into OEM folder in the (working xp directory) 4. Then i use driverpacks for drivers. I just point it to my directory and then let it do its thing. So please if anyone has any links or help topics for helping me build this it would be monumentally appreciated. I'm new to all of this i'm a hardware guy not software so please bear in mind. Links for OEMscan is : http://www.siginetsoftware.com/forum/showthread.php?t=541 Last Session (2010.07.19-22.16.25).ini
  15. Okay i'm wanting to incorporate the 3 xp versions i have created onto 1 disc. They are all oem activated by mrsmartepants script, but not driverpacked yet. Does anyone know of a good utility to do this? I need to be able to somewhat modify the look of the multiboot menu mainly to include a picture somewhere and possibly like a popup menu so that when people mouse or keyboard over the menu it gives them an information box. Anyway if anyone knows of some softwares with tutorials please let me know. Thanks oh i did use nlite and ryan vm to prepare the windows installations. Dont know if that makes a difference.
