  1. Dear All, Can anyone please help me with the script or reg hack that can be deployed to set the default Outlook 2003 addressbook to be the Global Address Book with any other address book as secondary. As far as I am aware that there is no Group Policy settings to set that. Thanks in advance. Cheers
  2. This is regarding deployment of XP SP3 to 9000+ workstations. Is it recommended by microsoft to deploy SP3 in silent mode which will enable the user to work on their workstation while SP3 in installed. I accept that the PC might be slow due to the fact that SP3 is being installed and the users are working simultaniously. But my biggest concern is that if the PC/workstation is rebooted while the SP3 install is in progress then how likely it will corrupt the OS. I have extracted the SP3 download and copied to a network share and using the /quiet /forceappclose /promptrestart /log:c:\xpsp3.log. PLEASE ENLIGHT WITH YOUR EXPERIENCE OF DEPLOYING XP SP3 IN SILENT MODE. THANKS IN ADVANCE..
  3. This is regarding post Office 2003 SP3 pathes for Outlook 2003. Currently Office 2003 Pro is deployed without outlook 2003 since groupwise is the corporate email system. We are in the process of migrating from Groupwise to Outlook. Out current office patch level is updated with post office 2003 post SP3 patches/updates. If outlook 2003 is deployed with SP3 slipstreamed then is it required to redeploy the post office 2003 SP3 patches/updates? Thanks in advance. Keep up the good work.
  4. Dear All, I am displaying the WINXP build tag on the desktop through the reg hack: Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00 [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Desktop] "PaintDesktopVersion"=dword:00000001 Now, can anyone help me how I can put extra information (corporate SOE build info, like build date and version) in the build tag that is displayed on the desktop wallpaper. Thanks in advance. Cheers
  5. Dear All, Can anyone please advise whether all the .net versions are required to be installed in a Windows Xp SP2 installation or the .NET version 3 is cumulative/backward compatible. Thanks in advance. Cheers BONGOOZY
  6. Dear All, I have slipstreamed Office 2003 (Volume Lic key) with SP2 and created a mst file using the CIW in ORK. I am deploying the package to XPSP2 workstations. Issues: The installation runs without any error. But in the CIW (custom installation wizard) I have set in the Set Feature Installation State box: Infopath not available. But after the install Infopath is installed. I have created an OPS file and adding it to the CIW. But the settings in the ops file are not set afte the install. But after install if I import the settings through ORK profile wizard then I get all the settings in the ops file. In the ciw I have set shortcuts to <StartMenu\Programs>\Microsoft Applications but the shortcuts are getting created in <StartMenu\Programs>\Microsoft Office. Office installs at every startup - applies to all userprofiles. It is a quick install/repair. I have tried all the settings etc but I am stuck with these issues. Can someone please help. Thanks in advance. Note: the xpsp2 workstations already have office xp - Sp3 installed and I am removing previous versions through ciw. Is there any issues between slipstreamed vesion of office xp sp2 and ork. PLEASE HELP
