  1. Thanks. I run SFC from time to time or when my Windows starts acting funny. It seems to always need to fetch certain files, so I assume something is damaging some of them. I do have a rather large i386 folder on my second drive, which the registry points to so I won't have to put in a CD. Would I be correct in assuming that the i386 folder on the nLite disk contains all the files SFC would look for? or, do all the MS updates change them? I am not sure what you refer to with "multiple runs" or "run nLite more than once against the same source". I will read up on SFC on this forum.
  2. Here is the Last Session.ini I had to research what it was and where it was. This is from the slipstreamed DVD. Thanks. lm411, you need to attach your Last Session, as requested above in BOLD RED letters. Your first mistake, I see, is slipping SP2 and SP3. You only need SP3. Some here will disagree with me but you certainly don't need SP2. Requirements are different with a running system than at install time. I do not know what is stopping SFC from running - maybe the Last Session will help. Why are you running it? Enjoy, John. LAST SESSION.INI
  3. I used nLite to create a slipstream XP PRO OEM including SP2 and SP3. It installed fine, but when I do a SFC, it asks for a Windows XP disk and won't accept any of the ones I have. I tried repairing the install and it worked OK for a while. Then I tried to reinstall SP3, thinking that would fix things. It didn't. It said that the installation failed and the OS probably wouldn't work. It didn't. I had to do a recover using Acronis of a copy of the old system. Now I am afraid I have parts of SP2 and parts of SP3 that are conflicting. How can I bring it back to where it started without a complete reinstall of all my software? How do I get it to do a SFC that works? Thanks!
