That is too much, I have already trimmed my OS to 1.4 gb with most of my required components. I wish to go below 1gb mark. I guess you must be talking about 64bit and I am talking about 32bit. Yep, sir ... I'm using Windows 7 Pro x64.

Thanks man but can you please tell how big is your OS, as I am trying to trim my OS to about 900 mb. 1.7 GB.

Thanks for your reply brother but I am using advanced option as I wish to keep my OS size as small as I can. But at the same time I also wish to keep some components like paint, wordpad, windows Media Player, Windows Photo Viewer, Windows disk image burner, etc. I managed to trim my OS to 935 mb but Aero theme and wifi problem still not solved. If you can share your lastsession.ini with me that would be great. I know what you mean mate but one has to do loads of tests to find out more about dependencies ...... Anyway, here's my last settings file to date ... Lastsession.inf

@ nice_guy75 Mate, you'd be better off using "Tweaked Settings" instead of "Advanced" as tracing back the lot would end up using different settings than in "Advanced" mode anyway. Make sure you've got the following enabled as far Themes, Aero Peak and ClearType are concerned.

Yeah well, I haven't applied "Advanced Settings" blindly, as mentioned before ... I have made some changes as well. That should be mentioned in bold letters Ben if you ask me.Just to let people know The only mistake I made is leaving "Windows Phone Dialer" checked for removal, by an oversight.

Update: I guess this one was the culprit. I'm not sure though as I've just had an error ( documents and settings - access denied ) while running RT Lite. The session file is lost, a pain in the ar**.

This thing is driving me bonkers ... Using RT Lite Beta 1.0.7 on Windows 7 Pro x64. I've used Advanced Settings and changed just a couple of things which had nothing to do with the Internet as far as I can tell. I've also used "Bare-bones" settings in Services and changed just what's related to Aero and themes. Now, no Internet connection. The thing I just don't understand is the absence of the Telephony service, I really don't get it. Is there anything I could do or do I have to start from scratch again ? Please Ben, for the life of me, could you provide an option to save LastSession.inf file prior to apply and commit as the application takes ages to complete the process and it sometimes gets stuck for hours and has to be killed manually, needless to say that all is lost then. PS: Unfortunately, I forgot to save my LastSession file before formatting/installing Win 7 Lite. I would have submitted it then ...

@ nice_guy75 I've had that error quite often. All I did was burning the ISO again and again. Pretty annoying I know .... You may try to include your motherboard's SATA/RAID drivers using RT Seven Lite before building the final ISO file.

I concur. Pity, the removal components process still gives me some gripes. I've tried to get rid of WMP and Games just to name a few but to no avail. Didn't try to remove WMP (would that work without the loss of WMV support within browsers?) I'm running Firefox and the only file I need in this particular case is NPMSWMP.dll. I can neither confirm nor reproduce this. I don't know how liable WMP is but it should be possible to play inbedded WMP files when using Windows N Edition IMHO. I can't imagine this being impossible. As already mentioned, you may want to give MediaPlayerConnectivity a shot along with something like Media Player Classic Home Cinema. Just wondering really.

Thanks a lot Guillaume, the is exactly the information I've been looking for. I'll report back then. I think you are using the previous version. I fixed it in new build 1.0.6 bensam56, I'm running the latest Beta 1.0.6 so I really don't know what might be the culprit(s).

Well, beat me to death but a second pass on the previously trimmed down installation package couldn't get me any further; WMP and games are still present. Quite peculiar as no entries for both have been made by the application ( I selected both for removal though ) Lastsession.inf

It's been said quite a few times before: at times components are not removed even though they were selected... Just run the component removal again on that .wim and check what hasn't been removed. Sorry but I must have overlooked those posts by the looks of it. Anyway, I've been running in circles for a while now as I just can't understand why items that are actually selected for removal won't actually be removed. The isn't the case for WMP only but have a look below, I selected all games to be removed ... then again What do you reckon mates ? I mean, do I have to start from scratch again ?
