  1. I figured it out; sort of. Maybe this will help someone else in the future. All my test installs were done on a virtual machine via VMWare. When I ran my Nlite install on real physical hardware it worked as advertised. I never thought that would be an issue, but there you go.
  2. I cannot seem to get my OEM folder to copy files to the HDD of my new installs. According to instructions I understood that I had to create a folder in the following path on my install disc: E:\I386\$OEM$\$1\Install which should result in the folder "Install" and its contents being copied to the root of C: on the new machine. Alternate instructions said the folder should be at this path E:\$OEM$\$1\Install so to be on the safe side I did both. Neither "install" folder nor its contents showed up on the HDD of my new PC. I have been pulling my hair out all day over this; any help would be most appreciated. ; Generated by nLite 1.4.9.1 [Data] AutomaticUpdates="Yes" Autopartition=0 MsDosInitiated=0 UnattendedInstall="Yes" [Unattended] UnattendMode=DefaultHide UnattendSwitch="Yes" OemPreinstall="Yes" OemSkipEula="Yes" FileSystem=* WaitForReboot="No" NoWaitAfterTextMode=1 NoWaitAfterGUIMode=1 DriverSigningPolicy=Ignore NonDriverSigningPolicy=Ignore Hibernation="No" [Display] Xresolution=1280 Yresolution=800 BitsPerPel=32 [SystemRestore] [GuiUnattended] EncryptedAdminPassword="No" AutoLogon="Yes" TimeZone=010 OEMSkipRegional=1 OemSkipWelcome=1 [Components] Iis_common=Off Iis_ftp=Off Iis_inetmgr=Off Iis_internetdataconnector=Off Iis_nntp=Off Iis_serversideincludes=Off Iis_smtp=Off Iis_webadmin=Off Iis_webdav=Off Iis_www=Off Iis_www_vdir_scripts=Off Iis_asp=Off [UserData] OrgName="joekickass" [RegionalSettings] LanguageGroup=1 Language= "0409" [Networking] InstallDefaultComponents="Yes" [WindowsFirewall] Profiles=WindowsFirewall.TurnOffFirewall [WindowsFirewall.TurnOffFirewall] Mode=0
  3. Hmm, I don't mean to step on anyone's toes, I was just using the best tool that I could find to a few (5)quick installs of XP. I'm not a corporation or even a business, but I do find myself reinstalling XP pretty regularly and not every install needs the same stuff. Anyway, sorry if I came across poorly in my first post, I guess I'll go elsewhere. Thanks
  4. Simply put I want to deliver a folder of data files to my Nlite installation. There are a number of optional drivers and apps that I want to only install on "some" of the machines I'll be setting up via Nlite, so I thought if I made a folder on the desktop called "Optional Files" (or some other location or name) and either deleted it or ran at after the Nlite install did its thing I'd have a slick option. Does that make sense? Is that feasible? Is there a better way to do it? Thanks in advance for reading my n00b question.
