No, the hacked uxtheme.dll allows you to apply custom themes, IE: allows you to display non-msoft themes and styles. But if you could display custom themes before, it must be the way you were allpying the themes before. How did you do that, were you using a special program?

hmm, you should ask deep freeze themselves about this problem, they might be able to help you, send an email to support@faronics.com... i seriously doubt they could have created such an annoying product without some sort of admin easy multiple machines at once feature, rolls eyes at faronics!

kk, down to bussiness, a couple of questions
A)Are you running a dual-boot machine
B)Are you attached to a domain / work network
C)Are you running a full install of windows
D)Are you using the uxtheme.dll directly, or having intermediate software mediate betwean you and the system
Da)If you are using intermediate software, what is it, ie: stylexp
E)Why in the bloody heck is msoft win so annoying!? (rhetorical, dont answer)

Could you post what is in [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\ThemeManager] when you have your custom theme enabled, also do so with all the contents of [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Themes]
it would help me understand this theme better, as well as anyone who tried to help

lol, well, see if they have sus installed, thats a way of applying the updates globaly, you could also create a script using xcopy to copy the updated antivirals to all the computers...
of course(ive not used deep freeze) this is providing that deep freeze will allow an admin to work on a system without having to disable deep freeze, and that you have access to the global profiles and the server hubs with admin privledges!

i wouldnt think you would need sms2k3, but check with msoft, they're sure to have the info... sus is fine for what you need, spyder2k is completly correct, although i thought sus pulled all the updates to a central archive on a server somewhere so that clients could download, not off the www. my first answer was to spyder2k's question

Nope, providing you've configured both the server and the clients correctly, everything is done automatically the next time the computer starts up!

hmm, thats very strange, i've never heard of that happening! its almost like the serivices manager is corrupt or something...
here, try my services.msc, see if that works, and in the meantime ill see what dlls and things are needed for it to work...

hmm, found one obvious one, if my services.msc doesnt work, replace your services.exe file, also in c:windows\system32, that might be causeing some of your probs

my cpu runs at 46C pretty much all the time, at idle, and surfing the web and what not. However, i do suggest you test, 65C is ok, but if it goes much higher than that, its not good, if it goes above 73C you will definitly need to either get some better cooling hardware or slow down the cpu because although you can strain the cpu up to 80, and above, its only for short periods really

If you just didnt know how to save, all you want to do is add the services plugin and then save as services.msc under c:\windows\system32

You need to change both the InstallTheme, and InstallVisualStyle keys. So waht you do is you right click on them, and then instert the definitive paths to those two files, thus most likely it will look like thus
InstallTheme REG_SZ %WinDir%\Resources\Themes\shenandoah.theme
InstallVisualStyle REG_SZ %WinDir%\Resources\Themes\shenandoah\shenandoah.msstyles
if you cant find InstallVisualStyle REG_SZ %WinDir%\Resources\Themes\shenandoah\shenandoah.msstyles, dont worry about it then, the second one is important, but not critical, the first one is...

You can run your cpu at up to 80C, i do it all the time, i get slightly worried though, so i dont do it very often, and if you dont run it for a very long time you can go up to 100C, and yes i do mean celcius, im also refering to fan cooling, not water cooling, still.. ven does probably need to slow down...

Actually, its probably the fact that it now requires some form of cookie authentication, @'s in http requests are legal, but more likely when they changed your login program thingy, they also changed the way it authenticates users, but check around, see what the URL is, and then what cookies have been placed on your system

To solve this you need to tell outlook to delete messages off the server after you;ve read them, its under the advanced e-mail account configuration panel, at least on outlook 2k3, i know its somewhere under outlook express, i think under the e-mail config, but look around and you;ll find it. However, you wont have anything left on your server after you download all your email, so...

Er, generally the easist way to do this is by simply going to the win update site http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com/ and the simply install only the critical ones. also there is also info on that site about getting the individual updates, but my reccomendation is simply to have windows download them for you via the online wizard...

either that, or run the MMC straight off the command line without it running anything, and then you could re create the mmc file that your missing, unless its missing the actually mmcapplet, in which case your better off following blackbull's advice. However, all you would have to do would be to go, start->run->mmc and then fiddle around adding snapins as you please via file->Add/Remove snap in

I may be mistaken, but i think that setup is thinking that %pci0% is now a command instead of a comment or section header. If it now thinks that its not a comment then its like well what do i do here, and cancels, if it thinks that its now a section header, it cannot recognise the device, ie: doesnt know that this is a nic you are trying to install so it cannot bind to it...
Now, i may be completly wrong, but thats what it sounds like to me...
