  1. the thing is that there are so manny different users i would like to have all the "general" info (such as what workgroup to be in, we have a default admin password, basicly everthing but the user name and cd-key) on the actual CD, so that if one of the other tecks here uses it to install they only halft to enter the cd-key and username into an answer file on a floppy righ tand the rest of the info is on the cd, safe from some of these people :/
  2. average probably about 10 a week except for these last two weeks and probably for a week to come; for them its about 30 a week
  3. XPCREATE fits in with the fact that this is what i am using and thought there might be a way to make it work using something special in this program set.
  4. the two option involve getting this to install, the computers that i am using this for do not nesicaraly need this update, and i do need it to be a fully automatic thing goign from starting with a new empty folder set, ripping the OS cd and then burrnign an iso.
  5. ok, i got it to work on a windows XP pro install with the .sif on a floppy dirve. now what i want to do is have part of the .sif file (all but the name and cd-key) on the cd and those two answers on a file on the floppy. also i tried to make a .sif file for windows XP home but it didnt recognize it on the floppy. any ideas as to why it didnt work with the home install?
  6. sorry to bring this old topic back but i just downloaded the program and had the same error while trying to make a Win XP Home cd. i wouldnt mind just taking it out but cant seem to fine the file to comment it out. any help would be great. Thanks

  8. I am a PC technician and we have many people who want to get windows XP installed on there computer. The computers are all makes and models with varying NIC cards. I thought I could do a RIS server and use a USB NIC to do the install but the only USB PXE disk would cost to much to get to make it work. Then I thought about just using an unattended file and bat file on a floppy and have it point to a network share but as of yet have not gotten this to work. Does anyone know of a way that I can use a single floppy to install over a network to a client computer of unknown make and hardware configuration and have the CD-key and name stored on the floppy in an easy to edit format? Thanks for any help Walter
