  1. But it was possible in XP with Dialog Box Assistant. Seems it should be doable in 7, just needs a talented developer.
  2. I can't be the only person who finds it annoying to have to constantly navigate back to the last-used folder when opening and saving files. Does anyone know of a utility that can fix this? Dialog Box Assistant for XP did a fantastic job of this. It would also remember last-used files and keep a user-defined list of favorite files and folders, all in two little buttons in the Save and Open dialogs. Too bad the developer moved on to other things.
  3. Thanks, but I don't think that's it. The only icon reference is to "wiashext.dll,0", which is an icon of a folder, scanner and camera, like the icon for Scanners and Cameras in Control Panel. I actually tried reshacking the camera icon wiashext.dll last night, but there was no change. I also tried using Process Monitor as GrofLuigi suggested, but nothing popped up there that led to the icon source. But thanks for trying to help, guys. Any other suggestions would be very appreciated.
  4. Hi, Is there any way in the registry to change the camera icon that displays in My Computer when my camera is plugged in? I'd prefer not to reshack shell32.dll or any other system files, unless it's a minor one that isn't used by the OS much. Thanks
  5. Well, sure, but there's a lot of them so it will be tedious to do so. Also, I want to make sure this doesn't become a recurring issue. Thanks tho EDIT: I think you're right, this can't be done, not without effecting the other user folders.
  6. Hi all, I have successfully changed the My Documents default path of C:\Documents and Settings\*****\My Documents to D:\My Documents. Every reference to the old path I could find in the registry now points to the new path. So far, so good, except that I have a bunch of shortcuts that reference %USERPROFILE%\My Documents, which still points to the old location in my user folder in Documents and Settings. I have been researching this, but the only thing I've found is instructions to change the ProfileImagePath string in the registry (currently it is %SystemDrive%\Documents and Settings\*****. However, doing that would effect EVERYTHING in my user folder, not just My Documents. So, is there a way to redirect %USERPROFILE%\My Documents, without effecting everything else in my user folder? Thanks!
