  1. Hi,

I always use the windows xp service pack 3 fresh CD.

My problem is new, with my old nlite build I never had any problems.

I am not a new user with nlite.

I know how to fix the windows installation when the administative templates are presents.

    I use this method:

    _____________________________________________________________________________

Run gpedit.msc, and go to Local Computer Policy\User

    Configuration\Administrative Templates\Windows

Components\Attachment Manager and enable "Default risk level for file

attachments", and then enable "Inclusion list for low risk file types"

    _____________________________________________________________________________

But on my gaming machine, I have an nlited installation with removed administative templates.

So I am now unable to fix this problem.

    here my boot.ini

    boot.ini

  2. Yep, that looks wrong, here's my hand modified boot.ini file

    [boot loader]
    timeout=10
    default=multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS
    [operating systems]
    multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS="Windows XP Professional x64 Edition" /fastdetect /noexecute=optout
    multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS="Windows XP Prof x64 - DEP Always On" /fastdetect /noexecute=alwayson

Though why would you want to set it to alwaysoff? I haven't had any problems with optout and only 2 programs on my install don't work with alwayson (unfortunately, they're blockers).

I Know it's not nlite faut, but how can I fix it ?

I have edit my boot.ini and I still have the problem.

  3. It was included in vlite before, but Microsoft wanted it remove.

You dont need to download the WAIK huge file, just use the rapidshare link to get the need files.

  4. when he says update, he means install 1.2 over 1.1.6

do not uninstall the 1.1.6 version before

thank for saving my bandwith, that 1.3 gig from microsoft was too big.

    :thumbup

  5. There are no tweaks which cannot be reversed from nlite.

Patched files can also be reversed by simply overwriting with a file with an updated win source.

How to reverse removals is another thing tho, and that might be what you want a list of?

A good idea per se, but instead of just asking someone to do it for you, you might start searching this forum and dig up what you can find.

No I dont want a list of what not to remove. I know all of that stuff by heart. I thought that some tweaks were not reversible.

Are you sure none are not ?

  6. If your Canon camera is not designed to use a WIA or TWAIN driver, so if your Canon setup CD does not provide such a driver, then you must not remove the camera drivers from your nLited setup. Windows will be able to detect your camera without external driver. Which does not mean that you won't be able to use CameraWindow and ZoomBrowser, they will work perfectly.

Exact, my girlfriend have a canon rebel xti, and we had the same problem.

The cause was that I had remove scanner and cameras with nlite.

  7. Hi, I did a newbie error. :blushing:

With my new nlite build, when I press crtl/alt/delete, I now have the screen to lock my pc and to access the

    task manager.

Is this related to the Boot and Shutdown-Logon Page-Classic option ?

If yes, may I edit my registry to put it back in default mode ?

    Thank for your help.

PS: sorry for repost, I had only irrevelant answer.
