  1. I would love to add SOLVED to Title, but I could not find a way to do that. If you have a way, I would do change a title immediatelly.
  2. SOLVED. This is a bug, but it can be fixed. You can try this one. Open Control Panel, Regional and Language Options and when that windows is openned, you can find the first language options saying »Select an item to match your its preferences, or click Customize to choose your formats« and than select English (United States). It would make Nlite working again. Of course, you might select some other Country and language and experiment with your NLite. If you are not sure, just pick English and run for your Nlite. Regional settings may interfere sometimes with certain software, which is obviously some kind of Winodws bug. For the time of being we know how to fix this one, but if Nuhy appear again, it would be easy to fix in the NLite source code. Guys, thank you very much for your efforts and toughts you shared with me in this topic.
  3. John, I tried earlier without any Antivirus on, the same situation. I am not in the mood to work with removing Windows Patches, but I am rather on the path to see if we can manage it somehow. It is probably a bug as I said before. Mooms, As I said before, I tried to remove NetFramework with nice cleaning tool and I had enough of time to play with all versions 1.0 to3 3.5 separatelly just to see if it is solution. Nothing worked. Now, I use 3.5 version. I really think it should be reprogrammed it it is possible at all.
  4. John, I did that, it integrated all files in a minute into my dedicated folder. Opened NLite, choose my C:\Nxp folder, the same again, it stopped responding. Integration of SP3 is an idea, but mostly I wanted to integrate both Nvidia and Intel SATA drivers, some monitor drivers and include recent Security Patches. Nothing more. The elements I used on working machine: Windows OEM Installation disk SP2, NLite downloaded from the Authors site, downloaded drivers and Windows patches. Machine was good with Winodws SP2. Everything went very smoothly. I used completely same elements on the new machine with SP3 and never past the point Scanning. It is probably a bug initiated with certain incompatibilities. Never mind. If anybody has idea or software which could make a nice log file in order to give us a light what exactly stopped NLite working, it would be nice start point.
  5. Thank you guys, but no solution yet. I spent almost a week to try everything you mentioned. This awesome package is really great, I recommend to everybody http://sereby.org/site/AiO-tab_x86. I made a trick, to see what is really going on. If we assume that Scanning of Hard Disk could be problem, I copied Windows installation to 1Gb memory stick. Opened it with NLite and it still freezes on the Looking Windows Installation window. The same situation. After that, I was researching what necessary software I have and tried separately Net Framework 2, than 2 SP1, than 3.0 and finally 3.5. In the middle I uninstalled previous package whit netfx cleaning tool, made CCleaner Registry Clean and install new one. Never made any progress. I went here to friends house and we tried NLite on his machine. Try to guess nothing happend. NLite freezes again on the same spot. He has very brand new computer Quadro Core, 4Gb RAM, 1Tb Hard Disk, with Windows XP Professional installed with original Windows OEM CD, newer than mine. Then I tried on other computer, old one, single Core, 1Gb RAM, old Windows XP SP2, and it worked. It could finish all procedure smoothly. I can not imagine that NLite does not work on new machines, it is the last thought I would give, but this is situation right now. Any newer suggestion you might have, would be great.
  6. Tried to take out all folders bit i386. Nothning. I tried also to move it to another destination, of course, out of root, as you suggested. Nothing again. Manually copied folder to the newest folder. Nothing. You can try Dependency Walker 2.2 to get a picture about dll connections. Mine shows that dll files of the NLite, which are Microsoft dlls for certain jobs, have a problem since some files they want to get connected to are missing. It could be the reason for stopping on certain point. If I may present my opinion it is probably a bug which is created after we owners of Windows XP SP3 installed some of Windows patches. That chagned something inside of dlls crucial for NLite. It is written several years ago, meaning that newer Windows have something different causing problems to NLite. We shall together try to find a fix since NLite is very valuable software to be lost due to probably small programing reason.
  7. Tried to delete folder Cmpnents, the same result. Stopped on the same place. I have Windows XP Service Pack 3, which come without Sata drivers. The reason for my NLite compilation is idea to reinstall Windows but with included SATA drivers inside. I checked dll cross reference and it says there lot of lacks of file msvcm90.dll. Some other dlls are missing. You can use any software for checking dll integrity to see that. It is some kind of error in programing and if author could make another version, since I strongly believe it is a bug here.
  8. I don't think this precludes a possible .NET problem. Some more questions:Have you every nLited this CD before? Are any of your HDDs on a network? Have you checked the MD5 of your nLite DL? One other thing to try is to remove all the extraneous folders from your CD folder, then run nLite. We will suggest the folders when we see the screen shot of the CD. Let us hear. Enjoy, John. Here are requested details. 1. Snapshot of the Windows copied folder, I wanted to use with NLite. As you can see, all files from CD are there. 2. This is snapshot of NLite phase where it stops working. That happens after NLite copied Windows files to my folder c:\Ncd 3. I tried coping Windows files manually, peace of cake, but NLite stopped on the same point. 4. I reinstalled NetFramework, using the uninstall tool dotnetfx cleanup to remove it and installed brand new fresh NetFramework 3.5. Result is the same, NLite stopped on the same point, Looking the Windows Installation. 5. Yes, I used NLite and was very satisfied on my previous machine. That means I am very familiar with all procedures and I like NLite a lot. This weird situation makes me crazy. It start happening on my new machine, very powerfull one, with Windows XP SP3 inside. Yes, I checked MD5 of the NLite and I tried downloading the installation from several net places. Everytime I checked MD5, it is NLite installation. No, my drives are not part of any network since this machine is not conneceted to any network. I hope now, it is more clear to you. Anyway, I would like to thank you for your patience and efforts. We shall find solution, I am sure.
  9. Yup, I can do that. Altghough I used NLite on my previous machine and kinda like it. It is a good software, after all. Thank you once again for spending your time with me. If you come to something, please give me direction.
  10. Thank you very much guys for your efforts, but I got no results. Although I have computing knowledge, this is obviously beyond it. I will try to give you as much as possible newer details, what I have tried according to your suggestions. Whole day yesterday, I tried a lot of things. - I have Net Framework 2, SP2, working, since there are software like ATI Catalyst which needs that and works properly. - Made scandisk, more precisely chkdsk /r, both drives C: and D: - Made defragmentation both drives C: and D: - Reinstalled NLite using C: drive only for program and for copying of Windows files. - Created new Ncd folder, put original Windows Installation disk I received with computer configuration from official dealer and NLite copied files in few minutes. Than we approached to the point when it says Looking Windows Installation and stopped. CPU is stopped on 50%, there is no Hard Disk indicator led, assuming there is no activity. I turned Antivirus software off, even I removed it from StartUp option, leaving my computer openned for viruses just to see if NLite would start working. Big Nothing. It stops here on the same Looking Windows Installation, Scanning job. What I Have found as very interesting. If we presume there are few steps, Open Nlite, click Next, Open CD-Rom folder with Windows files, Copying files into C:\Ncd folder, then it comes to Looking Windows Installation, wait few momenst and it fills up data, like Windows Professional, Service Pack 2, number of version, but Size options stays EMPTY. That explains NLite really scans something and because it can not finish scanning procedure due to some lack, it is not possible to write size number. I think that error is somewhere in scanning process which has a problem in gathering necessary files and information. Any the newest suggestion I would really like to hear.
  11. No, my Windows Installation CD came with the computer configuration from official dealer. I succeded before to make include SATA drivers in it, without a single problem. Now, with the newest configuration I have, with the same installation of NLite I downloaded few month before, I could not manage to make update Windows Installation. My wish, very simple one, is to inlude SATA drivers inside of it and to include SP3. Nothing spectacular. Download is good, since it worked before, although I tried different download also. Any further suggestions.
  12. johnhc I do not have a software to make a shot of Windows Explorer, but anyway I have folowing folders inside my C:\Nxp folder cmpnents DOCS I386 SUPPORT VALUEADO Autorun.inf Setup.exe setupxp.htm tcpip.sys win51 win51IP win51IP.sp2 Opened Event Viewer and found nothing about erros, CD, DVD or NLite. I found NLite here NLite Download Site WHat is MD5. As the result, I have nice installation, everything is fine. The problem come after coping Windows files to my fodler. I reinstalled NLite several times. Nothing. It stops after it come to Looking the Windows Installation and Scanning. I found out that Size: is EMPTY, probably means that Scanning has not been performed well. I think the problem coulb in programing of scanning paths. I can not remember right now, but my previous success is related to FAT32 formatted hard disks, which are now NTFS. Scanning is problem for sure, but how to solve it I really have no clue.
  13. Let me try to make it more clear. Kiki Burgh I used NLite before on previous machine I had with no problems at all, which means I have a picture about whole procedure. You are fully right. I have fresh Windows Installation CD, Service Pack 2. Put it here in my DVD ROM, opened NLite, clicked Next, opened DVD ROM drive where I selected Windows installation, than I choose folder C:\Nxp where it should copy files. NLite copied everything, fastly, I watched scale moving on very fast. After that, NLite changed to Locating the Windows Installation, it find Windows Profesional, Service Pack 2 and wrote message Scaning. That is point where it stops everytime. I checked folder C:\Nxp and all files and folders from Windows Instalaltion disk you told are there. johnhc I opened Task Manager, all other processes are 0%, the only running process is NLite with 50% which I left for an hour in Scaning possition. All files are copied to selected C:\Nxp folder as Kiki said, DVD ROM stops after coping. After that, nothing happened. Any suggestions.
  14. Thank you 5eraph and Kiki Burgh. There is no LastSession.ini file in any NLite folder as well as in the folder C:\Nxp where I copied fresh Windows installation files through NLite. After that, NLite stopped on the Location the Windows Installaction window with Scanning job. I used NLite on other machines and I am familiar about LastSession.ini files, they should be in my C:\Nxp folder, right. Kiki, I read that 417 post previously. I did not find good solution or I might have understood it incorretly. On this computer, I did not have any folder for Windows installation files and never used NLite on this machine before. What I did is fresh installation of NLite 1.4.9.1 on drive C: and creation of simply C:\Nxp folder where I wanted to put fresh Windows instalaltion files throughout NLite procedure. Everything went well until it stucked on the Location Windows Instalaltion window. I have NetFramework2, SP2, works with other software well. Please, id I did something wrong redirect me to solution.
  15. I spent hours to find solution on the problem when NLite 1.4.9.1 stops working after it copied Windows files to Hard Disk and wrote a message Locating Windows Installation, Scanning. Scanning proces shows 50% of CPU usage, but nothing happens, although I left computer for whole hour, just to see if it would do something. I search here on forum and found out two posts with the same problem, but I can not see solution for this problem. I tried 1. Installation of NLite on C: hard drive and creation of the folder C:\Nxp, nothing 2. Installation of NLite on D: drive and the folder D:\Nxp, nothing 3. Always used original Windows Installation CD, Service pack 2 to try integration of SATA drivers and Serice pack 3. I would appreciate a help from someone who can solve this issue.
