diskMETA is a great help for those who have realy huge amount of text-formatted data on their PCs, where it's impossible to search with standard Windows search function or a trivial scanner. Indexed search accelerates data location essentialy, finding your search query immediately, even if you have hundreds of gigabytes to search in. Building the index certainly takes time, as well as the reindexing if you create new files.
