  1. I will download the chipset drivers and install them. Maybe there is no RAID thing in the device manager because the disks are set to JBOD? I have no clue... But I know that my brother won't care, as long as he can use all 120GB then he will be happy. Also, there is a raid utility that i downloaded from the toshiba website under the downloads for the G25-AV13, and it won't even install. It says that it has to end prematurely for some reason. Oh well, maybe it is because of the same reason, the disks are in JBOD mode. Who knows... But anyways, the computer is 100% usable again. So thanks for all your help guys! I could not have done it without you!
  2. That is what it said under the mass storage controller.... maybe it is for the flashmedia, this laptop does have that... so maybe it has nothing to do with the harddrives at all??? I formatted the other harddrive and now I have all 120GB to use... I dont see a need to re-do anything at this point...
  3. Also I used last session.ini because I wanted both drivers to be installed (I didnt know you wanted me to use one or the other, I thought you meant to use both) so that was on purpose But if I redo the CD I will just use your modded driver
  4. Mass Storage Controller Hardware ID's PCI\VEN_104C&DEV_8033&SUBSYS_00011179&REV_00 PCI\VEN_104C&DEV_8033&SUBSYS_00011179 PCI\VEN_104C&DEV_8033&CC_018000 PCI\VEN_104C&DEV_8033&CC_0180
  5. Hmmm What do you mean my system won't run as it should? I do not understand what you mean by that, it seems to be working fine. I do not care about a RAID array, I just want the ability to use both drives for storage, and if I do like John says and just format it in the storage manager, that should do the trick... so should I really go through with trying to replace the driver? As for the clean source, I popped in my MCE disk, ran nLite, then copied the CMPNENTS folder to it. I integrated drivers, then clicked finish (then nLite closes?) so I have to start nLite again, then I used last session then integrated the second set of drivers, then click finish (and nLite closes again). Then I open it yet again, click last session, then make ISO. How is that an unclean source? Because I have both drivers? I don't want to have to re-install, but if you think I should, then I will. But like I said, I do not want to use a RAID array unless its for Striping, to split data across both drives. I don't want to use mirroring to copy one drive to the other. If you agree that I should try to replace drivers and/or re-install, then I will.
  6. @Fernando Sorry, I didnt realize you wanted me to use one driver or the other... I clicked on the link where you posted the special Qosmio drivers, I didnt know those were old I am going to assume that your modded drivers did the trick, as the other drivers I got from the toshiba website did absolutely nothing... and you seem to know what you are doing Since the installation went smoothly, I am not going to re-install or anything to see which drivers actually did the trick, but like I said, I am sure that it was the modded one @ricktendo64 Thank you for the suggestion. I would have tried that method if I didn't get so many responses so quickly, but I wanted to be sure it worked, so I was looking for specific drivers, not just a huge pack that may or may not have the correct driver. I wasted too many DVD-Rs already on my own lol heres a screenshot, I don't see "SCSI and RAID Controllers" anywhere... they are both in JBOD mode, maybe thats why? Or is it the yellow ? named Mass Storage Controller? Here's a screenshot of Disk Management @
  7. Hey guys... Fernando, I used both of the ones you posted... the special one for the qosmio G and your modded Intel Matrix storage drivers for ICH6M... I dont know if one or the other did the trick, so I included both just in case.... When it asked me to add drivers in nLite I just selected them all and integrated... Here are my last session.ini I didnt know how to add both sets of drivers in 1 nLite session lol: Last_Session.ini Last_Session__2009.11.23_18.54.34_.ini But as you can see I just added all drivers in both sets, made an ISO, burned with Nero, and it worked! I'm assuming its using the iastor.sys, that's what was displayed when it was formatting the HDD anyways... Also, the other 60GB HDD was shown when i was formatting... currently both are set to JBOD, but windows only sees the 1 60GB HDD, so how do I make use of the second one? I'm new at the whole RAID/multiple HDD thing...
  8. Ok, I got the toshiba drivers from the top of the thread and this new ICH6 driver you posted, used nLite to add them, and it worked! Thank you so much! Windows is installing in GUI mode as we speak!
  9. Also, a quick question. I downloaded the Intel RAID drivers, maybe I should download the nForce ones? It has nVidia graphics, but I have no clue on how to tell what chipset it is, Intel or nVidia. Maybe that would make a difference? I will try all suggestions in a few hours and report back. Thanks all.
  10. Also, I will change both HDDs from JBOD to RAID-0 so that data is split between them. I got the RAID drivers from the toshiba website, the latest, most up to date (there were a few of them, some years apart, would it make a difference if I tried an older one?) and on the toshiba forums, people had this same problem and said that the intel matrix storage thing would fix it, so I looked up the intel storage matrix drivers on the intel website and it listed the ICH's that each used. I googled the G25 laptop and in the specs it says it uses the ICH6-M, so I dont know why the specs would say that if it doesnt use that.... so i downloaded one of the zip archives of the intel matrix storage driver and added it to the ISO using nLite. There were a bunch of options of drivers to choose from in the list, and I chose the one saying ICH6-M (mobile/laptop) or something like that. Maybe I should just select them all? Or try using a mass pack like the one above? I don't care what I need to do, as long as I can get the setup process to see the hard drives and continue installation in GUI mode!
  11. Wow, thanks guys! I currently am on my way to work, but when I get home, I will try all suggestions and report back with any progress. I have like 5 last sessions.ini (with dates) but here is the one without a date, im assuming its the most recent. Last_Session.ini
  12. Ok I know this has been said a thousand times over, but I have been reading things and burning discs all day to get this to work, so please read on, I am in dire need of help! My brother has a Toshiba Qosmio G25-AV13. It has XP Media Center 2005, but he lost the recovery disc (go figure) I have Media Center Edition 2005 for my desktop, so I copied the contents of the CD's using nLite, and made a new DVD using nLite with built in RAID drivers. That got the HDD to be visible to XP setup. So I started installation, with a full format (only 1 HDD is being seen by windows setup, should be 2x60GB but I only see 1 60GB there) but when computer reboots the first time around, it starts the installation all over again! It wont pick up the HDD after reboot, so it brings me to a screen where it says "Press any key to boot from CD" I read in other forums that some people say not to hit any keys at this point, but this does nothing for me, it just stays there. And yes, I have changed boot options around, even trying to boot from harddrive manually, but it wont load the windows setup at all. So I'm stuck in this loop. On the toshiba website people said i have to install the intel matrix storage thing, and I did for this laptop (ICH6-M). That didnt work either. In the BIOS I set both drives to JBOD (there is only 1RAID, 2RAID or JBOD so I am trying to bypass the RAID all together, but it's not making a difference, I guess because it's still hooked up via S-ATA??) So what am I to do!? Am I missing something? Do I need more things other than the Intel Matrix Storage file and the RAID drivers embedded on an install disc? I have been fiddling with this thing for almost 3 days now, and all I can get it to do is install the windows folder, then on re-boot it starts the process all over again. Any advice is appreciated. Thanks!
