In xp i have to remove (i think) : system restore, remote registry, and terminal server services. In nlite (for 2k3), i dont find last option (so i guess we cant remove it ?) thanks

yeah, i guess nlite description just means it's needed to display media info, but not "the only thing needed" to do so

hi I tried to remove media player 9, as well as 6.4, and got no media info anymore (rightclick->properties->advanced). I DID keep what nlite says "necessary" for displaying this (i think its "shell something"). So i guess I should still be able to display this... Installing windows media player (downloaded from ms) solves the problem, btw thanks

i have to say i quite agree OS are bigger and bigger, slow down the machine more and more, wasting cpu power and hd space. An OS should be there to let the user operate the system (hence the name). IF they were serious peoples, M$ would have worked on improving xp core (as they did from 2k to xp, in a way).This would have resulted in a faster, smaller, optimised core. Then they could always buy Stardock to have eyecandy stuff... Drivers should be unified (i mean, there should be ONE directX graphic-card driver, and all manufacturers should make compliant gfx cards), same for network, etc Well, who am I... I'll stick with my nlited XP as much as i can, then, will try to switch to linux, if i can run FL studio on it

Last time i tried, it didnt let my HD go to sleep (power management thing)... Has it changed since sp1 ? (i know servers arent supposed to shut down HD, but well the option is here, so it SHOULD work if enabled)

Hi there Im having a sudden problem with some buttons which now have a bigger font (now BOLD it seems) (see "PLUS" button e.g.) For this one, in Nero, the whole text on the right is bold, while it should be like the one at left. I have an MSI 6200, bought it cos its fanless and performs well (better than 5200 i think, but has to be confirmed). This said, i only play Nascar2003 and a few games from that time period, and mainly emulators... (still, you can play far cry and HL2 with descent performance)

Can that wmp10 crap really rip cd's properly ?! I tried many, and EAC is the only one which gave me a 100% perfect result all of the time.
