  1. Is it possible to release final version a little later ? Im on vacation, monday.
  2. no antivirus here Just a quick Portable Clamwin scan over something I download, thats about it.
  3. Whats the point of keeping this anyway ? Why not removing completely ?
  4. well, i tried again, have tweakd services startup (added task scheduler and a few other "main" services), and still got a BSOD. I give up for now, it seems we can NOT pre-tweak service startup (or maybe a very specific service (or more) is needed at first boot).
  5. confirmed I guess at least the "task scheduler" is required (as not being "disabled"). I didnt check yet, but it sounds obvious. Still, some other services may be required at first boot...
  6. seems its finaly due to the services startup tweak page...
  7. nations installs starforce on your pc too haha now thats a weird free game :-)
  8. I did a cd with cluster service NOT removed, and got the same bsod. Still trying.
  9. I use portable Firefox, because its clean, and i dont need to backup anything in case of a ghost or something.
  10. further testing : all services set back to "default" doesnt help, so the blue screen is rather due to the removal of one of the services, I guess...
  11. so well, all services which are removable shouldnt cause the OS not to start (once removed), right ? I got a nlited 2k3, everything installs properly, but at 1st windows start, i have a blue screen (immediately). Here are the removed services : removed_services.txt Now, the other possiblity is that the blue screen is due to the services pre-config i did (which one is set to "auto" etc). Here is my services startup config : services_start_mode.txt Those settings were made accordingly to my running 2k3 copy (which works). I have set all services that are currently running in my machine to "auto". any idea welcome thanks
  12. it was "shell hardware detection", sorry, dunno why i disabled this one...
  13. these are the removed services : Alerter Application Layer Gateway Automatic Updates Beep Driver Distributed Link Tracking Client Distributed Transaction Coordinator (DTC) Error Reporting Fax Service IMAPI CD-Burning COM Service Indexing Service Message Queuing (MSMQ) Messenger Network DDE Performance Logs and Alerts QoS RSVP Quality of Service (QoS) Remote Registry Removable Storage Secondary Logon Service Advertising Protocol Telnet Terminal Server Licensing Terminal Services Text Services Framework UDDI Uninterruptible Power Supply Volume Shadow Copy Windows Media Services any idea ? btw this WIA service shouldnt need any other service to work i think I use a hp-psc750, and the printer spooler service is started and works.
  14. you could use win311 file manager (winfile.exe) :-) (better than xp explorer btw)
  15. confirmed, its the "cluster" service I used the same working iso, just removing the "cluster" service, and got this error message back.
  16. ok guys, some fresh news I re-did the same iso again, but this time, without removing "cluster" service and "RIS" (in -operating system options-), and now it works. I cant guarantee its the cause, so i'll remove those and make another iso to test) what i can guarantee is that mouse cursors are not removed :-)
  17. i think i removed (in this latest install) : QoS RSVP Quality of Service (QoS) Cluster (which weren't removed from previous -working - version)
  18. ok fine thanks for fast support :-) (and for this amazing app btw)
  19. here MAN_win_grey_white_back_USE_THIS.rarit is Well, i integrated it via the (new) proper nLite section (?)
  20. which i did : in event viewer/application i got this (along with several acpi error messages)(which may be related to the fact i use Qemu)(talking about netbios and things) http://img171.imageshack.us/my.php?image=e...viewapplii2.jpg in event viewer/system i got this http://img171.imageshack.us/my.php?image=e...wsystemepk0.jpg (the cryptographic service is up and running) I didnt have this message with yesterdays's iso, which included .net framwork 1.1, and one or two more services (i dont remember which, unfortunately) thanks for the help
  21. just to confirm it was indeed related to the color scheme I redid the iso without it, and it worked. My scheme had a very long name, dunno if that can be the cause...
  22. ok thanks i guess i found out, "1972" is related to the personal color scheme i included in the iso. Seems it causes problems...
