The teacher didn't understand, "Just turn to page 404! It's there... the one after page 403!" The nerd quickly responded "but I'm not allowed to go to page 403!" The teacher, getting mad, was about to come over and show the student where the page was. "never mind, here it is," he said, rolling his eyes.

I'm trying to enable the support for east asian languages after Windows XP is already installed.

I wonder if there ist a methode to do it via batch or manipulating hte registry - any automatic idea is welcom!

For Type1-fonts it's [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Type 1 Installer\Type 1 Fonts] .

I did the sizing thing the way it was told in the thread, but it just sized the administrator's quicklaunch bar, the user's stayed default-small...

I did first the felix thing, than imported the sizing-regkey, shout I have done the sizing first?

I do it the Felix-Way , but automatic it with a batch:

Reg Load "HKU\CUSTOM" "c:\documents and settings\%USERNAME%\ntuser.dat"
regedit /s FELIX' REG_FILE
Reg Unload "HKU\CUSTOM"

That's pretty simple and works fine!

...actualy I'm still searching for the clue to size the quickluanchbar for normal users...

It seems to me that the sizing only work with the Administrator but when I log on as User it's still default-small .

Is that usual with that solution?

As-sassin notice my method uses HKLM, not HKCU, and I get my own code rather than use someone elses.  I add my HKCU at the 13 min mark and I add HKLM at first login (GUIrunonce in winnt.sif).

Oh, sorry, I mistook it.

I'll try to put it in my script on Monday, bcause it's friday afternoon in Germany and I want to go home to my little daughter ...

I'll post my result then.

I added that

reg add HKU\CUSTOM\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Advanced /v TaskbarSizeMove /t REG_DWORD /d 1

to my script to unfix the Quicklaunch Bar, but it seeams even much better to fix the right size by default!

I'll try it (as soon as my Test-PC ist installed properly)!

As I told you before, I use Felix' reg-file to set the quicklaunch bar.

In Felix' Script I add in

[HKEY_USERS\custom\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Streams\Desktop]

Default Taskbar and TaskbarWinXP

Do I have to overwrite his Default Taskbar with my saved TaskbarWinXP as rdalling described it? Or what?

I used Felix reg-file and batched that from the guideline:

For %username% I use "default user" for new installation and leave it to insert a special user for already installed PCs.

It's great, but I'm not finished at all by now:

The Quick Launch Bar only shows the Links at c:\documents and settings\special user\and\so\on\Quick Launch not from c:\documents and settings\default user\and\so\on\ (or all users)...

Any clue?

during an unattended install or after the user is logged on?

I did it after the user logged on, but after your remark I created a test-account and logged on with that, but there was no quick launch bar, too.

I made your script a .reg-file (q_all.reg) and added it via automatic software installation as

regdat3 -i q_all.reg

But there's still no Quick Launch Bar ...

What's still wrong? Can you tell me?
