Wanted to build a new system for my wife so I purchased h/w and for O/S, bought "Ultimate Steal" deal from digitalriver, downloaded the 3 files and followed the steps outlined in the guide here - http://www.mydigitallife.info/2008/01/07/m...th-vlite-guide/ - to create a bootable image using vLite and burned it to DVD. When I load the DVD on my current Vista x64 machine it reads the DVD and launches the Vista installer. If I try to boot the same DVD on my current machine, it can't seem to launch the installer - brings up an XP splash window and then craps out. Seems like something isn't built right for a 64-bit boot? But should I expect to get the DVD to boot on my current [OEM-built] machine? Would like to get this issue resolved because h/w shows up tomorrow and it would be nice to have an O/S to put on it once it's assembled. "Back-up" DVD is supposed to evenually follow the digital purchase but don't know if that's bootable either.
