Suppose it is not THAT painful. Was trying to get it to be as "unattended" as possible. Aslo, I've done clean upgrade installs from one version to the next (i.e. NT to Win2K), not sure how it will work with a "chain" (i.e. Win NT, Win2K, Win XP etc.).

OK, that somewhat defeates the purpose of the slipstream but would still be better that the whole manual installation process. A secondary question: I have a full retail copy of Windows XP Pro. Could I use that disc image but the installation key from my upgrade copy? The upgrade machine was actually upgraded from Win NT Pro to 2000 Pro and then to XP Pro (all legal and legit) but it badly needs a clean install and I am trying to figure out the most painless means fo doing that. I have a second machine that I build with a full retail (non-upgrade version) of XP Pro on it, so I am wondering if I can use that image to faciliate the install but use the key for the upgrade version and that way keep everything in order? Any idea?

I want to create an nLite slipstream install disk using an Upgrade version of XP Pro in order to perform a clean install from scratch. I BELIEVE that the upgrade version requires that you inert the previous version (Win 2K etc.) CD during the install process. Anyone know/have any suggestions as to how this can be done? Thanks, Brent
