Greetings, I want a minimal install of Vista Home Premium 64 bit. My disk has SP1 and I've downloaded SP2. I understand slipstreaming is not supported. But when I tried to install SP2 it failed. I went to the site and it said you can't install on vLite as necessary components have been removed. I tried using Windows Update on this system and it downloaded 3 updates but went into an endless loop of trying to install them. Indeed, I want to remove Windows Live Messenger, Meeting space, Tablet PC, Win Media Player, modem support, Windows defender and many other things I don't need. But does this mean I can't load SP2? This is a gaming machine. I want to play games on it. I have linux for work. What is the best method to strip Vista down to the fastest kernel? Is any reduction via vLite dooming SP2 install to failure? How do I add SP2? Thanks, t
