  1. Notice that it says "can" and not "will." "Can" implies that the problem may or may not occur. So the contradicting reports kind of make sense. thanks for explaining black means the subject is black
  2. i in now way mentioned hacked keys, so please don't blame me for something i haven't done. i was talkin about older and newer keys. one can have more of them you know.
  3. okay, i think i will replay the experiment coz there are a lot of sessions so i will try to clean things up ASAP, and a retry may prove me wrong. will see.
  4. i've tried all day and the solution is described above and all the conditions you mentioned are met. ; Generated by nLite 1.4.9.1 [Data] AutomaticUpdates="Yes" Autopartition=0 MsDosInitiated=0 UnattendedInstall="Yes" [Unattended] UnattendMode=DefaultHide UnattendSwitch="No" OemPreinstall="No" OemSkipEula="Yes" FileSystem=* WaitForReboot="No" NoWaitAfterTextMode=1 NoWaitAfterGUIMode=1 DriverSigningPolicy=Ignore NonDriverSigningPolicy=Ignore [SystemRestore] DisableSR=1 CreateFirstRunRp=0 [GuiUnattended] OemSkipWelcome=1 [Components] [UserData] ProductKey="XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX" [RegionalSettings] LanguageGroup=2 Language= "040e" [Identification] JoinWorkgroup="WORKGROUP" [Networking] InstallDefaultComponents="Yes" [GuiRunOnce] "%SystemRoot%\System32\nLite.cmd" this is the current one. the failing one differs only in the lines described earlier. i can't attach my session file coz i always delete it; otherwise it would make it into the iso which i really don't want. i may be able to reproduce it, but i see no point, coz the manual editing was that solved it, no other modification was made.
  5. i set up workgroup and some other stuff in unattended section but during install it will ask for workgroup, even though in i386/winnt.sif: [Networking] InstallDefaultComponents="Yes" [Identification] JoinWorkgroup="WORKGROUP" the order seems to be the problem. if i switch them, such as [Identification] JoinWorkgroup="WORKGROUP" [Networking] InstallDefaultComponents="Yes" then it works fine, it won't ask network-related questions during install.
  6. same error here. the reason is that ms changed the key algo somewhere between sp1 and sp2. additionally, in the earlier versions it was impossible to go further without a valid key. so try with an earlier key (or if you did, then with a newer one), and see what happens. it solved my problem.
  7. hmm any chance for a script or at least instructions so that we can make our addons for our own language?
  8. ah, thanks for this tool, trying the installers with nlite right now
