I am currently using Nlite to add my drivers and would rather use HFSLIP. I have read the forums and found two references to the folder to include them in, HFDRV and HFEXPERT\DRIVER (I think the last one is right, it was from a post of Oleg's) and while I understand, I think, how to add the WinXP regular for lack of a better word, the TEXTMODE Promise RAID controller is driving me nuts. I have attached the files and would really like someone to look at them and point me to a link or guideance on how to include these as normal drivers. Similar to the ones that Microsoft uses in Windows 2003 for their PERC Raid controllers if possible. Right now I am lost. And yes, I tried following what Oleg_II posted and failed badly. Very new to this. Any help or suggestions would be great. TIA ATA.rar

What happens if you replace Windows XP Pro Driver.CAB with Windows 2003's

What happens if you want to partition the drive? Full unattended would cause a problem wouldn't it?

Working with Windows XP Pro, after a clean yet modifyed install the first boot brings up the configuring windows stuff, do you want to turn on automatic updates, do you want to register and the add user(s) box stuff. Is there a way to turn off all that junk and get straight to the logon prompt to logon as Administrator? I have searched Google and the forums and am either asking the wrong question or something. I have used a winnt.sif to set the Administrator password so its not blank if that helps. Any suggestions?

Tried the test release HFSLIP_60603a on WinXP Pro with dotnet2.exe in the HF folder and it failed with the same error. Have been trying to get to the link Super-Magician posted to try Aserone's installer, but the site must be too busy to connect, server keeps resetting. Any new developments? By the way, really appreciate the work you are doing.

I have tried several switchless installers for installing the Net framework v2 and have the same failure every time. The installer is located in the HFSVCPACK folder along with Acrobat Reader 7.0.7, reg file, WinRAR SFX archive and everything else installs just fine. At about T-13 the programs kick off and I can watch them install until dotnet2.exe. Everything looks to be going fine, extraction, install, until it is almost done, then I watch it roll back the install and the other installs continue. Event Type: Error Event Source: MsiInstaller Event Category: None Event ID: 11406 Date: 6/1/2006 Time: 9:53:07 PM User: NT AUTHORITY\SYSTEM Computer: DEEPDEV-001 Description: Product: Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0 -- Error 1406.Could not write value DW0200 to key \Software\Microsoft\PCHealth\ErrorReporting\DW\Installed. System error . Verify that you have sufficient access to that key, or contact your support personnel. The odd part is the key referenced does not exist to start with. (DW\Installed) Do I need v1.1 installed first or does anyone have any suggestions? By the way, I have tried this on a Corporate and Retail version of XP Pro, both legit.

Found another topic VMWare Tools UA install where Yzöwl was discussing the issue. Seems there is a way to create an SFX archive and include it in HFSVCPACK that might work. I am going to test this later and will post results.

I looked into this a little more. The addon is not a switchless installer in the context of those meeting HFSLIP requirements. Looks like the best way to add this, is to follow RogueSpears instruction by creating the OEM folder and editing the winnt.sif file after running HFSLIP and then make a new ISO. The nice part about this package is it verifies the system being installed is a VM or it will not install the tools. Wish I knew more about creating true switchless addons cause this package would be a real good one to have.

While working with VMWare 5.5.1 every time I load a new test XP Pro ISO made with HFSLIP right after the final reboot a popup comes up and wants to optimize the display settings. This locks up the startup and forces me to shutdown the VM and restart then the OS again. The mouse locks up as soon as focus is placed in the VM and I have to go around the world to logon and install the VMWare tools package to get full functionality. I have found a package by RogueSpear that will add the VMWare tools, only it is required to be run from RunOnceEx with an OEM directory on the install cd (not $OEM$). Could anyone offer advice on how add this package with HFSLIP. I am somewhat new to this.

Well MS has a new set of updates they deem critical for XP. Windows Genuine Advantage Validation Tool (KB892130) and Genuine Advantage Notification (KB905474) (PreRelease) the first two do not seem available (looked on MS and found no link) for inclusion with HFSLIP? Also, looks like in addition, Update for XP (KB910437) is also included because of these. This one is available on the download site. Anyone have any information on these?

I do not want to permanently disable WFP. I only want it disabled during install so the modified dll can replace the original. See RyanVM question in the following post: http://www.msfn.org/board/?showtopic=23587 I am interested tin the registry hack to accomplish this.

Tried that and it didn't work. Downloaded a modified uxtheme.dll, cabbed it (UXTHEME.DL_) placed it in the FIX folder and ran HFSLIP v60518b. No errors. During install, system would not let me add file. had to ESC file install to continue. Did I do something wrong?

Will putting a reg file in the HFSVCPACK folder as follows: [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon] "SFCDisable"=dword:00000001 Disable Windows File protection long enough to install a modified UXTHEME.DLL and let Windows register it instead of the original when it installs? I want to modify the system to use additional themes but not disable Windows File Protection completely.

I have been trying to find the link to the correct folder in HFSLIP to place add-ons like Kels_CDImageGUI_CPL_addon_vBeta3.cab for HFSLIP. I have seen it but can't find it again and am lost. Would someone mind pointing me in the right location. Thanks

Looking at Tomcat76's post, the folder structure 01\mydriver.sys is how it is done in nLite and I would think it would work well for HFSLIP. That way two files with the same name wouldn't/shouldn't overwrite each other. Also I am trying to deal with textmode USATA drivers too. I will try to check how nLite deals with them since they work well if nLited.

I checked nLite drivers, (Not in the driver cab file) and he puts the drivers in separate folders 0 ... 9. Do you know if DRIVERCAB will allow that and have HFSLIP incorporate them? The reason I ask is that 2 drivers have a layout.bin and data1.cab file so if I try to copy them to the same folder they want to overwight the previous one. I looked in the nVidia GeForce 7800 FX video inf and found no reference to either file so I am not sure where to go from there.

One last question before I try this, do I need the edited SETUPAPI.DLL and do I just put the drivers in the folder i.e (ar5211.sys, net5211.inf, and net5211.cat) for my wireless card? And add the rest of the drivers as individual associated files?
