Ok I used the ones from your post and I got 8 errors like the one I mentioned above. As for the part with the can't copy file, the only possible part from what you said could be the first half of your 1. , but I have been using this Win XP cd for years and it should be a clean copy. I will try one more time and see if anything changed. EDIT Ok, with the cd made from the drivers on the first page, I got tons of errors when copying files, but I just switched the unmodified cd with the modified one and got past all of them without skipping any file. I'm hoping everything will work ok until the end EDIT 2 Woot, it works. Thanks for your help. Love this site, helped me solve lots of problems.

I got a fujitsu amilo 1505 pi laptop and when I try to add this driver http://downloadcenter.intel.com/Detail_Desc.aspx?agr=Y&DwnldID=17883&ProdId=2300〈=eng&OSVersion=Windows%20XP%20Professional*&DownloadType=Utilities%2C%20Tools%20and%20Examples to the win xp cd the nLite gives this error: Cablib compress ERROR : Could not flush cabinet : Could not create a temporary file Error 13: Invalid data And while copying files during windows installation it says it can't copy iaahci.inf, and I get a blue screen at the end of the installation. I realy would appreciate any help given.

So no ideas why the HDD is still in 0 LBA for me?

I connected the HDD with the DKU-5 cable and power cable started hyper terminal, entered the command and that's all I did. PCB was connected, everything should have worked, but it remains in 0 LBA. Kinda of anoying as I managed to fix like 5 HDD with the BSY error.And yes I tried both commands with 0 and without 0, same problem.

Hey, I have fixed a few busy HDD without any problems and recently I got a 0 LBA HDD. I tought it will be easier to fix but it looks like it is not. It has CC1H firmware and after I type the m0,2,2,,,,,22 command I get something like this: Max Wr Retries = 00, Max Rd Retries = 00, Max ECC T-Level = 14, Max Certify Rewrite Retries = 00C8 User Partition Format 3% complete, Zone 00, Pass 00, LBA 00004AA5, ErrCode 000 00080, Elapsed Time 0 mins 30 secs User Partition Format Successful - Elapsed Time 0 mins 30 secs Zone re-format was skipped. And also it is the first time the Hyper Terminal shows this when I start it: ASCII Diag mode F3 T> When I fixed the BSY HDDs the ASCII Diag mode line was not there The problem is that after I get that final message and disconnect everything from the HDD it is still in 0 LBA. Why is that?

I need urgent help, after I typed N1, and pressed enter, I powered On/Off like the guide said but now the terminal isnt responding! What should I do??? NVM. I solved it and my Seagate is up and running! THANK YOU GRADIUS2 FOR THIS GUIDE

How do I use the multimeter to find the RX and TX of my CA-42 Cable?

msah83, try connecting ground also. Not only TX and RX to the HDD.

Ok, as I could not find any adaptors in my country i decided to use a CA-42 Cable.My cable has 5 wires in it : Blue,Yellow,Red,Green,White. I know that the blue one is ground because if i conect any wire to it, symbols appear in the terminal. But I cant find the TX and RX wires. I tryed conecting every possible combo of loop of the remaining 4 wires but nothing appeared when I wrote in terminal. Is there any other way to determine the RX and TX wires?
