Well I've had semi success with creating a universal company image for multiple platforms, my only concern is this! I've used BTS Driver Packs with KTD option and so far after imaging 4 complete different PC's everything has turned up PERFECT. My concern is that the after the image is loaded it detects the new hardware and installs the drivers automatically, however I feel this is not a "CLEAN" way doing so! The old hardware drivers installed, how does windows treat them?.. I believe the most efficient way doing this would be to sysprep the PC and have the OS re-check for system drivers on the 1st boot, however I don't have any Idea how to achieve this! Any help on this would be great.!

Well Everything turned out to be ok after i did a repair with the steps above. the Boot.ini did not help but thanks to everyone for the all the help.

2nd repair function?. I went ahead On the XP Licensing Agreement screen, press F8 to agree to the license agreement. selected the current installation of XP is selected in the box, and then press the R key to and now its repairing!!! hope it works. I never saw 2nd repair option to reinstall JUST sp2!!!

[C0000135] - [unable to locate component] The application failed to start up because winsrv was not found. The best solution to this problem is to reinstall the application. Well i disabled restarting and now see this message, i DONT have any reg tweakers to cause this. Can i do a xp repair and not lose ANY of my documents?

I heard about this from a few others but no one has been able to restore. Installed SP2 now windows keeps restarting OVER and OVER i can't even get into safe mode. What can i do without having to reinstall. I need all my documents and programs.

Right Now the network runs off a Catalyst 2100 Switch as the WAN access everything else is based behind the Switch.

Company I work with was contacted today with email stating Company system consists of 20+ xp workstations running with one PDC Windows 2000 server, . No Virus protection at network or client level what so ever. There is ALSO a MUST need to stop access to porn, sports etc.. sites as much as possible. I have advised Norton Corp Antivirus which can be deployed via the Server to every client on the network. I have also advised them of setting up a firewall (application level) to prevent activity, but I'm now wondering about the best solution to prevent access based on site content. Along with everything else I will be setting up User policies as there are NONE right now on the server. I've read of some nice commercial policy applications that can assist me in that filed, so any input on that would also be great. For now i will be handling cleaning the network via public tools and others but prevention is what im not up to date on. Any Input would help

Well as strange as it could be. 2.4 HT 512 corsair 3200 9500 pro Anyways i got dual OS system off a fresh install and when working with both seems as the win2k runs MUCH smoother, faster then XP. Is this due to XP needing more resources IE. RAM or should XP run smoother. Reason I ask is i was thinking on getting 512 more ram to get 1gb to help XP out as its my main OS.!!
