  1. Hello, I did some tests with Windows update. It seems that it ignores which components are removed by vLite. When I scan for updates, it lists Cumulative update for IE and a hotfix for Windows Mail, even though I have removed IE and Windows Mail. I installed these updates to test. I thought that it maybe it should just replace the installed files, ie core. But all files were copied to my HD. Also iexplore.exe, which was removed by vLite. Does anyone know a better patch manager than Windows Update? I personally use Belarc Advisor, which lists far fewer hotfixes than Windows Update, but even it lists Cumulative update for IE and a hotfix for Windows Mail. Fred
  2. Either didn't you read my post or is my english bad. I thought that I made clear that I had done a reverse integration. Fred
  3. Hello, I have installed a vLited version of Vista SP 1. I've only used it for two weeks but it seems very stable. Now I have integrated SP 2 using reverse integration. I have tested the Vista SP 2 disc and it works. Now my intention is to create a vLited Vista SP 2 disc. I will probably remove the same components as when I vLited Vista SP 1. Can I do a repair install with the vLited Vista SP 2 disc and by that way install SP 2? Fred
  4. Thanks, it seems to be exactly what I want Fred
  5. Yes but done is done. My nLited Xp works perfectly and I don't want to reinstall. Maybe I could expand the necessary files from from the original CD? But I have to know which files. Fred
  6. Hello, I removed Windows Media Player and also Windows Media core. Does anyone know which files have to copied to the Windows folder (system32 I would guess) in order to play windows media files with other players, such as Media Player Classic? Fred
  7. Hello, I removed IE from Windows XP SP 3 but kept the IE core. I'm a bit curious of what is removed. I have noticed that the IE folder in C:\Program files is empty from files. For example: If I in the run dialog type "explorer myfile.htm", the same - bad - old IE is launched. So, How much of IE is removed? It seems pointless when Windows explorer is IE in disguise. Couldn't some more files have been removed in order to disable Windows explorer's ability to display html pages? I feel that I still have the IE browser even though iexplore.exe and maybe some more files are removed. Fred
  8. Hello, I can't find the answer on this anywhere. Maybe a dumb question. I have just installed Win xp pro and integrated SP 3. I removed most things that weren't red marked. I suppose there will be a service pack 4 in the future. On that day: Can I just run the service pack installer? Will I then get back the components I removed? Thanks Fred
