Lookeen needs not much ressources. WDS needs more! You can adjust the speed of the Lookeen-indexer so if your pc slows down while indexing you can use that feature. But I understand your problem, you just want to get Outlook to work Perhaps you should check your fire-wall/antivir if there is a conflict? At least I'd reinstall office and hope that it will work.

What about an alternative search-tool? Did you try Lookeen?

i had also a similar problem and my solution was to take an external search tool named Lookeen. now i just type in the tool-bar what i want to search in my outlook and it will be found. no matter if it is a contact or mail or attachment (..) in my opinion the easiest solution.
