  7. Integration of Intel's SATA AHCI and RAID drivers

You can be very confident, that you will succeed with the XP installation onto your laptop in real mode, if you have integrated the 32bit Intel textmode driver and checked the Intel ICH8M AHCI Controller, but you will not be able to test the drivers with VMWare. Probably not. It is not recommended to integrate several drivers of the same chipset vendor (in this case Intel), because you cannot be sure, which driver version at least will be installed. The problem is induced by the fact, that all different Intel driver versions have the same name: IASTOR.SYS. So the already integrated IASTOR.SYS file will be overwritten during the integration procedure of the next driver version. If you want to create an XP CD with a big variety of textmode drivers, I recommend to use the DriverPacks method. For details you may look here. Regards Fernando ok fine. But then can help me with a link to download the actual driver's: Intel® ICH8M SATA AHCI Controller - 2829 Intel® ICH8M Ultra SATA Storage Controllers - 2850 Thanks...............
  8. Integration of Intel's SATA AHCI and RAID drivers

hello, i have slipstreammed with the driver's you gave to me.Although i have to try it on a VMWARE to know if it's working.(hp pavilion entertainment pc,dv-6500) Intel® ICH8M SATA AHCI Controller - 2829 Intel® ICH8M Ultra SATA Storage Controllers - 2850 1.First bootable device is CD-ROM 2.I used the image to boot. thanks...
  9. Integration of NVIDIA's nForce RAID and AHCI drivers

Ok, this information helps much. Your laptop has an Intel ICH8M Southbridge and you will need the 32bit Intel textmode driver to get XP installed.Consequence: Instead of the NVIDIA ones (which is the topic of this thread) you have to integrate the Intel textmode drivers into the XP CD. You will find a guide and the suitable driver within the first post of this thread. If you have any further questions, please post into the linked Intel textmode driver thread. Good luck! Fernando hello, I slipstreamed the drivers the drivers you mentioned.when i run the iso image my screen goes blank and nothing happens.thnaks.....
  10. Integration of NVIDIA's nForce RAID and AHCI drivers

If you want help, you should give some more informations:1. Which is the manufacturer (HP?) and which is the exact name of your laptop (Pavilion dv6500 CTO? HP has built different laptops of the "Pavilion dv-6500 Enternainment Notebook" series.)? 2. Do you know the vendor and name of the Southbridge chip, which is on the mainboard of your laptop? You may look into your manual of the laptop. Other option: If you should still have access to Vista, open the Device Manager" and look into the "IDE ATA/ATAPI Controllers" and "Storage Controllers" sections for the names of the listed Controllers. This might us help finding the vendor and suitable SATA or RAID driver. General notice: You will not need to integrate any driver, if you run the SATA Controller of your laptop in "IDE/LEGACY mode". Enter the BIOS and search for an option like "native SATA Mode" or similar. This setting should be disabled, if you want to get XP installed without the currently enabled enhanced SATA settings. CU Fernandos ok thanks. As per the bios there is no such settings that am very sure off.my laptop make is HP Pavilion Entertainment PC(dv 6500).whan i checked the IDE controllers from the device manager this what i saw(IDE ATA/ATAPI controllers) expanding a also saw(Intel® ICH8M SATA ACHI contrllers - 2829 and Intel® ICH8M Ultra ATA Storage Controllers - 2850.
  11. Integration of NVIDIA's nForce RAID and AHCI drivers

  12. Integration of Intel's SATA AHCI and RAID drivers

Then disable the "SATA Mode" option (choose "No"). That means the same. You not getting what am saying.there is no such option in the bios that is what i mean.hp pavilion dv-6000 this kind of laptop series does not come with ability to change the sata whatever.
  13. Integration of Intel's SATA AHCI and RAID drivers

Your laptop has a NVIDIA nForce chipset and a NVIDIA Southbridge. So you will not be able to use the guide of this Intel textmode driver thread. It is very easy to get Windows XP installed onto your laptop, if you do the following: Enter the BIOS and disable the "SATA Native Support". After having done it, you will be able to get Windows XP installed onto your laptop without the need of integrating/loading any textmode drivers. Once XP is up, you can install all the other missing hardware device drivers. Good luck! Fernando hello, With the kind of laptop i have no such settings in the BIOS,it's only sata mode no opetion to change it in the BIOS.thanks....
