  1. HI when the installation starts Copying files to hdd it stops suddenly & says that it cant copy a file. What may be the cause? Notes: My USB was formated default FAT16 partition was NTFS. last time I did it it with same settings it worked fine. My original iso file is not damaged also I tested. EDIT: Ok this has happened second time now. I think I found the cause. Solution: Create your USB install from Full XP installation. (Virtualbox for example) 2. Times I made my USB install from Nlited XP Installation 2 different computers, & got error, cuz it is unable to copy files from my USB stick when I start installing XP Then I installed Full XP, created USB install & all problems went away

Hi I get many errors that say many files missing after sTep 3 Hie is the log: CTRL+F & search for word ERROR / cannot find the file specified / A needed file is missing there are billions of errors.   3. So I managed to install XP from USB stick. With no errors this time, Thank you for the multiboot thingie , but now if I restart I see this choices screen. Why? If I install froom CD this never happens. And I did format first. What should I do to install from USB so this screen wont never bug me? If this is not possible, how do you get rid of it. ?

  5. Thanx, I kept those 3 files & it did the trick. Well except that after I install from USB it fails to copy following files & then it says Hit F3 to exit setup.: And I do use the kingston data traveler like in the but cant install XP from USB dxdiagn.dll mmcndmgr.dll msxm16.dll she1132.dll win32k.sys wmploc.dll Line 4949 of hivesys.inf is corrupted Setup cant continue.... EDIT: Nvm this issue was solved by: formating my USB stick into FAT 16 & Haed drive partition C to NTFS

It's common to disable this service, so it's recommended to select this for removal, especially on slower machines. Internet Authentication (IAS) ---------------------------------------------- Enables authentication, authorization and accounting of dial-up and VPN users. IAS supports the RADIUS protocol. IPSEC Policy Agent ---------------------------------------------- Manages IP security policy and starts the ISAKMP/Oakley (IKE) and the IP security driver. This will not remove IPSEC driver. Kerberos Key Distribution Center ---------------------------------------------- Generates session keys and grants service tickets for mutual client/server authentication. Needed for: - Wireless Configuration Message Queuing (MSMQ) ---------------------------------------------- Associates the arrival of incoming messages at a queue with functionality in a COM component or a stand-alone executable program. Messenger ---------------------------------------------- Transmits net send and Alerter service messages between clients and servers. This service is not related to Windows Messenger. This service is often used by spammers to display unwanted popup message boxes. Net Logon ---------------------------------------------- Supports pass-through authentication of account logon events for computers in a domain. Needed for: - Logical Disk Manager Network Access Protection (NAP) ---------------------------------------------- NAP is a new platform and solution that controls access to network resources based on a client computer’s identity and compliance with corporate governance policy. NAP allows network administrators to define granular levels of network access based on who a client is, the groups to which the client belongs, and the degree to which that client is compliant with corporate governance policy. If a client is not compliant, NAP provides a mechanism to automatically bring the client back into compliance and then dynamically increase its level of network access. Information is downloaded from network providers as XML configuration files. This component is used by the Wireless Configuration service to store provisioning information related to wireless networks. Removal may cause startup lag. If you want to remove Telnet Client as well then add 'telnet.exe' to the 'Remove Box'. Terminal Services ---------------------------------------------- Allows multiple users to be connected interactively to a machine as well as the display of desktops and applications to remote computers. The underpinning of Remote Desktop (including RD for Administrators), Fast User Switching, Remote Assistance, and Terminal Server. If removed, there will be no indication as to which user is running a certain process in Task Manager. Needed for: - Network Printers Volume Shadow Copy ---------------------------------------------- Manages and implements Volume Shadow Copies used for backup and other purposes. WebClient ---------------------------------------------- Enables Windows-based programs to create, access, and modify Internet-based files. This will remove Home Network Setup In Windows 2003 SP1, this is needed for the Computer Browser service. Features I need 100%: IE CMD - to reconnect internet Internet connection - ADSL Cable, dial up connection (to be able to connect using a broadband connection that requires a username & password) Optional features: Disable active scripting in IE Usage: My XP pro will be installed on a virtual PC "virtualbox". The only thing I need is to open IE & browse the internet. This is all I need, everything else can be removed. No service packs, updates, hotfixes or any other additional software will never be installed. Progress Smallest install.ISO I was able to make was 115MB after install the OS takes around 700 MB disk space. Problem Problem is, that I cant see new connection Wizard under My Network places if I open properties. It seems that I have removed something I should not have. And I cant figure out what. Any idea what components I need to use the internet?
