    Thank you so much !!! I've fixed my ST31000340AS today using Gradius2's BSY direct guide (skipped the G-List part).... and it works perfect !!! I would like to recommend anyone to use the Nokia CA-42 cable that looks like ... http://buffalo.nas-central.org/index.php/U...RM9_Linkstation Got mine in Thailand today with the exact same look. So, I guess it is all around. ... if the driver is installed correctly, there will be no need to use any additional power source for this cable..... I cut out the cellphone side's head ... found only 3 wires ... and connecting them to single jumper each (normally found in the computer case's audio or LED connection) by twisting and tape around,.. then to the HDD pin. No seed for soldering at all. But of course, you still need the power for SATA.
