So, I guess it is all around. ... if the driver is installed correctly, there will be no need to use any additional power source for this cable..... I cut out the cellphone side's head ... found only 3 wires ... and connecting them to single jumper each (normally found in the computer case's audio or LED connection) by twisting and tape around,.. then to the HDD pin. No seed for soldering at all. But of course, you still need the power for SATA.
