  1. 871124 - registry error while installing

    hamidi posted a topic in Windows Vista
    hi sometimes, eg. when i try to install MSSQL Server 2005 SP3 (a Windows Vista Ultimate update), an error prevents continuation of the process which refers to something named "perf". it sounds sth is wrong in the registry. when i refer to the system event log i see sth like this: Failed to read registry perf object Memory\Committed Bytes since this happens sometimes and is not limited to this special case, it seems sth is wrong with the Windows itself. anyone has an idea? thx
